It's November and Thanksgiving is rapidly approaching. If you are like most families you are finalizing who will host dinner.

If you are hosting this year, no worries about the overwhelming responsibilty. I have a few quick tips to get you started.

1. Make an invite list so you can account for how many people will be attending.

2. Make a list of the menu items that will be prepared.

3. If other's are providing their "favorite" dish. Let them know in advance so that they can be aware of their responsibilty.

4. If guests ask what can they bring the best gifts are toiletry items and disposable items. Those always go the quickest and after everyone has left you now have to replace everything in your home.

5. Start preparing early by shopping for the non-perishable items now to avoid lines and out of stock mishaps

6. If your budget allows, hire a cleaning service for before and after your event to alleviate the stress of clean up on top of cooking.

7. Organize activities for the children.

8. Purchase to-go containers for your guests to take surplus food. There are only so many dishes you can make with left overs.

9. Schedule a day off before or after the holidays to give yourself a day of rest.

10. ENJOY being the host by being hospitable and cheerful. Make you guests feel at home and not so restricted.
