I grew up in Liberty County, and I do not ever remember hearing any stories or events like this. I never remeber hearing about Bigfoot around there growing up…
Any one else that grew up with me/around me?? Do you guys remember hearing anything about “Bigfoot” growing up?

In the late 70s, a teenager was out hunting in Liberty County, Texas, not far from the Trinity River, when he had a couple of unsettling encounters. One sunny afternoon, deep within the woods, he spotted what appeared to be a gorilla lounging under a tree; it was gray with a black face and seemed oblivious to his presence until he got closer. Every time he caught a whiff of an unusual smell—somewhere between a skunk and a wet dog—he noticed that all wildlife around him went quiet. The following year, while it was foggy and damp, he heard grunting sounds and sniffing from a thicket that turned out to be anything but feral hogs; after making some noise, he was startled by a loud splash as whatever it was bolted away. He explained, "It was something I had never experienced in the woods before."
