Nothing beats a big hug and kiss, but long-distance love calls for creativity! Ever wonder why we use “XOXO” for kisses and hugs? The “X” dates back to medieval times when people signed documents with it as a mark of sincerity. Over time, it evolved into a symbol of love—some say it even looks like puckered lips! The “O” is less clear, but one theory ties it to Jewish immigrants using it instead of the Christian “X.” By the 1960s, “XOXO” became the go-to for affection. In the UK, though, they stick to “XX” for double kisses!
