Southern Corn Fritters 🌽

On this last day of Black History Month, we’re going to honor the life of Abby Fisher. Mrs. Fisher was born into slavery, but died an accomplished business woman, award-winning cook and author. AN ICON. Her cookbook “What Mrs. Fisher Knows About Old Southern Cooking” is the first recorded cookbook in our history to be published by a former slave.

As a cook, but most importantly as a black woman, I feel immensely grateful to be able to hold such an important piece of history in my hands. I read the cookbook over the course of this month and it was extremely inspiring to me. I recreated several of her recipes this month for my family and they loved them all! We country country 👩🏾‍🌾😂
I’ll share my version of this recipe on my next post.
