So we've had several in the last week, despite it being Memorial Day Wknd.

We sang to a manager of United Electric in Kennesaw. Girlfriend wanted a cop to scare him about the tag that he didn't renew for his bday... Did that and then brought in balloons to sing to him. And air his dirty laundry... he was a bit shocked but mostly laughed out loud.

Was Marilyn Monroe for a 50th bday in Fayetteville. The husband was bright red, the little girls their entranced as well as the puppy. Everyone was very complimentary and even more funny, the little girls wanted me at their bday parties.. I said, well you probably would rather have me do face painting and balloons. They liked that and said, "Mom, can we have Marilyn come to our party?: Hahah... The cute puppy stood staring at me like she knew me.. I picked her up... Very sweet event.

Today, a law firm in Norcross for one of the employees birthdays. I called the client earlier to tell her my cell phone was acting up and wasn't sure I would be able to text her when I got there. She yelled that this wasn't her fault and that I was unprofessional... Uh... I'm not a cell phone technician, Jim... I'm an entertainer. Thankfully, the phone restarted and all was fine. Sang to the birthday girl, and after that I was conducted to stay and do some prank filming for another 15 mins in a gorilla suit... profusely sweating at this point. This guy was acting like Martin Scorsese directing us and had to do at least 4 takes ..I was thrown $20 for all my efforts...SMH - Wouldn't recommend this law firm, which seems to be all about the female owner and her self-aggrandizing photos all over their page.

And one of my guys pulled an Elvis for a boss at Better Beans Branding. The gal that hired us would not deal with me on the phone, so 50 emails ensued. All went well, however, he was instructed to stay long, and that is highly unusual for a telegram. I told the client if they would like to give a tip to my performer, we would greatly appreciate. Have heard nothing back on that.

I was hired yesterday for a great guy who is the District Commander downtown ATL who had a 64th birthday and his wife was out of town, but wanted to make it special for him. I've not been treated well by cops most of my life. This guy was definitely different. He was overly appreciative and sweet, sang with me and even twerked to In Da Club... I had a lot of dirt on him by his honey... and he kept saying "Wow"... sorry. Great humor, good sport, and even walked me to my car afterwards. The following was from his wife later after she saw the video. She made me tear up with her kindness. Makes me feel that what I do matters and makes people happy. Thank you to the cool clients, the sweet people who get what I do.

Another successful singing telegram today as a cop... looking to scare a daughter on her 26th birthday. Sent from Mom in Ohio to her girl here in Fairburn at Owens-Corning.
Came in with a bit of an issue and that she was getting a ticket for tag/license issues... and then broke into song....
Her mother warned me that she didn't have a sense of humor and would hate it... however she loved it, laughed the entire time and twerked with me... It was fun and sweet.

Mom gave a tip and left a lengthy voicemail about how I nailed it and that her daughter was so happy and loved it... So makes me feel good, even though for whatever reason, when leaving Fairburn, trains stopped, trucks stopped... it was a nightmare to get back home.

Over the past month we have had some interesting gigs..

Chicken in a thong with balloons for a gal who works the graveyard shift at Waffle House in Cu***ng... She was very surprised and happy, but driving to Cu***ng at 6 am... was a nightmare!

We did a WWE Undertaker telegram with balloons, for a brother and the folks at the party thought he was the real deal!!!

Face painting and balloon sculpting for a family in Mableton.

Construction company that wanted to really embarrass their manager at Melting Pot restaurant in Duluth... Not sure he loved it, but that's what they asked for...

Shrimp telegram for Vanderlyn Elementary, Assistant Principal who hates shrimp. I was complimented on my Pat Benetar/Freddie Mercury/Tina Turner with Shrimp references... and the teachers were doubling over laughing especially when I sang, "It's Hard Out Here For a Shrimp".

I face painted for the anniversary of Northside Hospital Childcare and a lot of fun was had including a bounce house that we provided.

Another successful Mt Bethel Elementary with our mime.

Face painting for Lawrenceville Braves game with lots of young and old kids needing decorating.

Gift from a Grandpa from Illinois who couldn't be at his granddaughter's 2 year old bday party... I painted and ballooned the sweet kids.

Bob's Burgers Telegram for a gal who works at Agnes Scott and all of her family dressed like the characters!

A Freddie Mercury telegram that went really well, but sadly no video.

A Wonder Woman repeat customer for Superhero Fire Protections for their boss at Rreal Tacos in Lville... He hated it the first time, so they sent me again to really rub it in this time... He was at the head of a very long table and while I was singing to him, he held up middle fingers to his employees at the table!! I guess they got him again.

I was Preggo Peggy for Ford's BBQ employee who is pregnant and will be leaving to start her own business. I had to be a complaining customer about the ribs, sing songs and then pose for photos after handing over a bouquet of flowers. She was pretty emotional.

Was a Chicken in a thong bikini with balloons for KSU Baseball Staff Terence Norman who was thoroughly embarrassed... and seemed to enjoy the moment...

Rented a Stitch costume for an aunt to send to her 17 year old niece which was fine, until I realized that you can't see out of the costume, therefore had to take the head off to read the pieces of memories and card. Wasn't exactly what I was hoping for... But all was fine.

And finally a clown for 60 year old twins... Not sure why they wanted a clown with balloons, but I guess a good time was had by all at the party...

We get challenged with crazy requests all the time, particularly for singing telegrams. I try to steer customers towards costumes, etc that I feel will work as I've been doing this business full time for 32 years. But some people refuse to listen.

For instance, one aunt to her niece was adamant about having a Stitch costume because they love that movie. However, I have never been asked for that costume. I had to rent it, and well, it's not a good costume. You can't see out of it, I mean, can't see the ground below you, which is not good, particularly if you are working with tiny kids. So clearly, I was not going to be able to read the things that I needed to say to the niece. So I had to take off the head, which is also something that you don't do when wearing a mascot costume. My point here is if she had chosen the hula dancer as I suggested, the reading of the items would have been easy and I could have danced/sang without issue.

The second customer asked for a Mr. T... Well, this isn't an option on our page... There's a whole list of ideas and costumes that we DO HAVE. I said, well, if you are ok with a white Mr. T... which of course is ridiculous, as I have no one that looks like him or portrays that character. So she went with a clown for the 60-year-old twins.

My point is that we like to provide characters/costumes that would entertain the person involved. It is clear, that you need to think of the whole scenario and how this will work within the performance.

A Harley-Davidson location wanted to hire one face painter for possibly 600 people at their event. I quoted and they told me that they couldn't afford 5 hours of painting for what a normal face painter charges. (And I'm lower than most painters). So how much does a Harley cost? Oh between $10k and $50k...
