💖 Magic moment story time: This amazing couple chose a Ryan Adams song for their first dance and requested it to be played a bit slower. Shortly after the filming of this video, a brief lightning storm came through and tripped the power. Without interruption, we kept playing and singing, only louder so they could still hear us. Friends and family all joined in with steady claps to keep the beat and some even joined in to sing the parts they knew. What might’ve seemed like a huge inconvenience at first turned into an incredibly special and intimate moment - Everybody in the room celebrating love together in unison. The power turned on shortly after their dance and we were back in business. At the end of the night, guests were lining up for the sparkler send-off. We asked the couple if they’d like to re-do the song as a private last dance. They respectfully declined. In retrospect, we realize that was such a wise move. There’s no recreating truly magical moments such as these, but you can always be ready to facilitate them. They happen suddenly, with suspended judgement, no time to think, they just happen. Maybe another band would’ve just stopped and everything would’ve halted. Maybe another group of family and friends would’ve been disappointed and upset, just waiting for something to happen. Again, we continued on and everyone sprung into action, without thought, instinctively, with 💖
