B’s Charitable Pursuits and Resources is a Christian husband-and-wife team who want to help charities raise money for their organizations, but at the same time get the community involved to raise awareness for the different charities in the area. He will help you with your marketing to help gain more clients. Cost is $175 an hour minimum of an hour. The hours of work will be done Monday-Friday 8-5.
• Editing Services: For proofing print and web content. Cost is $25 an hour, minimum of an hour. Working hours for this is Monday-Thursday 3-7; Friday 3-5; Sundays by special appointment. Proofreading: This is the easiest type of editing. Proofreading is about getting rid of cosmetic errors. It is usually the last step in the writing/editing process. It's not meant to be comprehensive; when you are proofreading, you shouldn't be re-working text or re-arranging content. Proofreading is about doing a last run-through to catch surface problems with the content. Copy editing: Copy editing is about improving style, formatting, and accuracy. Copy editing is about making sure there aren't inconsistencies, and that the style flows well — in addition to being grammatically correct. There are different levels of copy editing: light, medium, and heavy. Light copy editing might consist of double-checking accuracy and taking care of most grammatical issues. Medium copy editing includes heavier lifting, such as correcting flow and re-working some of the text. With heavy copy editing, the editor might re-structure some paragraphs, or heavily correct style, flow, and grammar.

Over the next several months, we'll be working with different organizations across our community that are looking for speakers for their 2027 meetings and events. So if you've got a story to tell, an expertise to share, or a message that could encourage others, we want to hear from you.

Whether you're a seasoned presenter, a business owner with real-world experience, a nonprofit leader with lessons learned, or someone who's never spoken anywhere but knows they have something to say. There's a room out there in 2027 that needs to hear from you.

Here's how it works: reach out, tell us a little about yourself and what you'd like to speak on, and we'll work to match you with organizations looking for exactly what you offer. And yes, first-time speakers are welcome. Everyone has to start somewhere.

Venue, food, supplies: those are the obvious event costs. But they’re rarely the whole picture.

Remember to count:
• Staff and volunteer hours: Planning, calls, setup, teardown and follow-up all take time. If an event raised $5,000 after 200 volunteer hours, that’s useful information, not a reason to dismiss the effort.
• Sponsor goodwill: Every ask draws on a relationship. Make sure events are worthy of that support.
• Donor fatigue: Repeating the same event too often can wear people out, even if it doesn’t show in the budget.
• Opportunity cost: What else could your team have done with that time?
• Follow-up: Thank-yous, receipts and sponsor reports help lay the groundwork for the next gift.

This isn’t a reason to stop hosting events. Events build community, raise awareness and bring new people in. It’s a reason to do the honest math and choose each event on purpose.

Before your next event, ask:
1. What is the full cost, including hours?
2. What does this event accomplish that our other fundraising doesn’t?
3. How will we use the funds and momentum in the 30 days after?

We are getting closer to October’s Giving Back Charity Trivia and Silent Auction Night, and this is your official reminder that trivia is more fun with friends. It is just a week away.

Especially the friend who swears they are “not good at trivia” and then somehow knows the capital of every country, the lyrics to every 80s song, and the entire plot of a movie nobody else has seen.

This month, we are raising money for Helping Hands for Bartow Kids, and we would love to pack the room with people who care about helping local children and families.

Helping Hands for Bartow Kids works to support children in our community by providing opportunities, resources, outreach, and encouragement that help kids thrive. Their heart is local, their mission is needed, and this trivia night is one simple way we can help.

So here is the challenge: buy your ticket, then invite someone new.

Bring a neighbor. Bring a coworker. Bring your parents. Bring your church friend. Bring the person who always says, “We should do something fun sometime,” and then never picks a date. This is the date.
