On Serenity's ninth birthday, I'm reminded that I'm old, but having a daughter as awesome as you makes it all worthwhile, kiddo! When doctors were all like 'maybe, maybe not', the universe decided to give me a solid 'yes, she's awesome' and here we are, nine years later. Time flies when you're having fun, or in our case, when you're barely keeping up with this tiny human. Being your mom has taught me more than I ever learned in school, mainly that sleep is overrated and humor is key. Watching you grow into a mini-me of awesomeness has been the highlight of my life, mostly because I get to tell people about your achievements and sound like a proud parent. Your name Serenity means peace, which is funny because you're often the opposite, but I love you for it. Happy birthday, Serenity, let's party like it's your ninth birthday because, let's be real, you're still young and I'm not that old... relatively speaking.
