Today we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

As we gather with family, friends, and community this Memorial Day weekend, we’re grateful for the freedoms their courage made possible.

Memorial Day is not just the start of summer, a day off work, or a backyard cookout. It is a sacred reminder that freedom has always come at a cost.

In times like these, when our nation feels divided, uncertain, or heavy with loss, we are reminded to look closely at both what we have… and what others gave up so we could have it. Every freedom we enjoy, every family gathering, every flag waving in the breeze was paid for by men and women who never made it home.

They missed birthdays, weddings, holidays, and futures they deserved to live. Their families carried the weight of that sacrifice long after the final salute.

Today, we honor them with more than words. We honor them with gratitude, with remembrance, and by never taking this country or our freedoms for granted.

From all of us at Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4133, we ask you to pause today and remember the fallen. Their sacrifice is the reason we still stand free.

May we always be worthy of the price they paid. 🇺🇸
