Let me tell ya… Katie is ALL THAT. She is the hype, she is the energy, she is the kind of person who walks into a room and you just feel it. She is so incredibly sweet, compassionate and genuine, and it literally oozes out of her soul. If you have the pleasure of knowing Katie or being a part of her life in any way, you know she is a DOLL!

Years ago, I traveled to Denver to photograph a wedding for a friend. Somewhere in the middle of that experience, I met Katie, a Colorado native who told me, “If I ever get married, I’m calling you.”

Now listen... people tell photographers that ALL the time. And as much as I love hearing it, it doesn’t always happen, especially when that person lives halfway across the country from you.

So when I heard from Katie almost HALF A DECADE later and she told me she was getting married… I genuinely couldn’t believe it.

She remembered me. She meant what she said all those years ago. And somehow, years later, Jordan and I were packing our bags and heading back to Colorado to document her and Ryan’s wedding.

And I am SO thankful we did.

Because it became so much more than just photographing a wedding.

We spent time with their families, really got to know everyone, connected with some of the most genuine people and walked away feeling like we had made new friends. Those are the weddings that stick with me. The ones where you show up to do a job and leave feeling like you were somehow meant to be there.

Katie & Ryan, thank you for trusting us enough to bring us all the way from Ohio to Colorado to document this chapter of your lives. And Katie, thank you for remembering that photographer you met all those years ago.

You are every bit as genuine and wonderful as I remembered.

This entire experience was just GOOD for the soul, and I’m beyond thankful we got to be a little part of it. 🤍
