Sunday evening pond check and rock skipping session. Three blue herons are nesting in the very tops of the eucalyptus. They watch us from huge nests. What a wild ride the last two weeks must have been for them. The pond had dried up the last few years. It currently is pouring out over the spillway. Our little creek has ripples and deep pools. I love that all this water will connect with Carneros Creek then flow out to Elkhorn Slough. I love this heart shaped pond that E.E. Seely built to show his love for Bertha Reid in the early 1900’s. Love, legacy and the next generation skipping rocks and nesting.

When you buy bulbs in the winter to plant in the spring, have every good intention to plant them but life happens. You pass them for weeks saying “ Yeah, yeah I will get to you” but you don’t. You forget about them( it’s the dahlias fault) then stumble upon them in late August and say…well let’s pop them in real quick and hope for the best. Then…it actually works out. Armloads of these beauties just started today, December 1st. Farming… never a dull moment and always a head scratcher! Happy December. May you bloom when it suits you

Ohhh October you are a fabulous blurr of amazing clients, vendors, venues, farming, grants and good personal life happenings as well!
