We were so honored to cater the 20th celebration of J-Pal (The Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab). They are a global research center working to reduce poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. They do such remarkable work, and we were humbled to help them celebrate this milestone.

Food for Free is one of Something Savory’s favorite organizations to support. We have been working alongside them in their mission to fight hunger in Eastern Massachusetts for more than a decade. Their initiatives to establish innovative programming, partnerships to overcome barriers, and commitment to strengthening our food system align directly with our values. The FAO (The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN) reports that if women farmers had the same access to resources as male farmers, they could bring 100-150 million people out of hunger. Research from the FAO also shows time and time again that gender equality opens doors for entire communities to improve nutrition security as well as social and economic well-being. In honor of International Women’s Day, check out the 27 women Food Tank is Celebrating who are working to close the gender gap and empower women in the food system. It is more important now than ever that we focus on our food system.
