MARRIAGE IS A GIFT!...................................
I think of my marriage as a gift. I didn't always think this way though. Scott and I went through years of difficulty and just barely survived for what felt like forever. God took us through a season of learning to maintain our friendship when we were all we had, as we moved from place to place and didn't have any friends for periods of time, and no family around.

I didn't speak negatively of my marriage to other people, but I was one that always thought negatively. This stopped up so much growth that could have happened. We began to learn to communicate, learn to forgive, learn to compromise, learn to pray together... marriage absolutely is work! But it's so worth the effort, especially when you both press on toward the goal together.

Now when I think of marriage I think of friendship. To me, there is nothing better than living life, most moments and most details with your dearest friend. There is nothing better than having the one person who actually understands you hold you as you cry. There is nothing better as crawling into bed, completely exhausted, next to the one person who can say a word and send you laughing to sleep.

If you're struggling with where your marriage is at, I encourage you to press on. Don't give up. Don't lie down. The call of God on marriages is to run the race with ENDURANCE. Accept the call. It's not always easy, but the race is always worth it.
