So much to share with you, stay with me!
After being an elementary school teacher for 10 yrs, my school in McKinney closed. God said NOWS THE TIME! So I resigned from teaching to pursue my dream of being a full time artist!
But let’s be honest, you can take the art teacher out of the classroom, but she will BUILD HER OWN! I renovated my garage (yes with AC!) into the most colorful, cozy, creative space in Anna!
I teach homeschool art, fine art clubs, kids craft workshops, adult craft workshops, mother daughter craft clubs, parents night out, kids art camps, host adult and kids private parties, and more! I have so many more ideas but I want to fill the classes I have before adding more!
MOMS- as the social director of your family, I want to personally invite you into this space to see and experience for yourself while having time for YOU to enjoy some therapeutic creativity and connect with other women! That’s why I have a FREE mom’s crafting night every Tuesday from 8-10pm. You bring your own project or craft (dig out that 3 yr old diamond dots kit, grab a sketchbook, or gather up your crochet materials) and we all hang out and work on our own thing. If you have nothing to bring, there is a $5 fee to enjoy shared materials! It will be the best part of your week!
If you’re still with me, I am going to double dip this business post by promoting my own fine art for a moment! I am an oil and acrylic painter and the common threads throughout my paintings are Joy, light, and discovering reasons to celebrate every ordinary day! Lastly, I’ll leave you with a great story! A few days after I resigned from teaching in May, I had my first fine art festival in May and a storm called a microburst destroyed my booth in the middle of the night on Mother’s Day! I was crushed and my family arrived to help me clean up. My dad and my husband were trying to salvage my tent and I said “It doesn’t matter, don’t you think I should never do this again?” And my dad said “No you have to do this again because your children saw what happened and they need to see their mom try again” so I posted a teary eyed video to Tik Tok about what happened and what my dad said. It went viral. It got 7 million views and launched my art career! I sold more art than I possibly could have at the art festival! I was invited to an art show in New York after that where I saw Niagara Falls for the first time and won an award for my art! So that’s the story of how I was an elementary school teacher 5 months ago and now I’m an award winning artist traveling the country! I launched the Microburst Mail Club, where I send limited edition prints with a sticker and surprise every month to my members as a way to provide a reliable income for my family while I pursue my dream to be a full time artist! It’s $10/month and I have 108 members. My goal is 500 members to replace my teaching salary! 👩🏻🎨🫶✨🎨
