We delivered this beauty today as a gift from a mother to her college-age daughter for her birthday. 🎀

🍂 Today marks our final bouquet of our locally grown, fresh cut-flowers of this season. We wanted to be able to offer our flowers up until first frost, but with the extraordinary amount of rain and overcast skies in September, it is not going to happen.

🌱 Our garden beds need to be flipped and we have been having flower bulbs delivered the past few weeks to put into the ground.

🎁 We are working on handmade gifts like mini dried flower wreaths and pressed flower stationary. And hope to have them up on our website in the next month.

💐 Our 2027 Bouquet Subscriptions will be going on sale later this fall too!

🌷 Stay tuned for our spring offerings and sign-up for our newsletter at the bottom of our website.

I have been making gift tags to send out to some of our Bouquet Subscription customers as we wind down the end of our seasonal fresh cut-flower season. What do you think? Would you use dried flower gift tags?

🪣 Over the weekend I attended to garden chores, tromped through muddy grass, and planted out seedlings to overwinter.

To be honest, if feels counterintuitive to put tender greens 🌱 out in late September. The "experts" say these varieties can handle our Midwest winter and provide earlier, taller blooms in spring and early summer. I have my doubts, but willing to give it a try.

💰 If you have ever wondered what goes into the price of a flower bouquet, let me tell you, it is months in the making. I started these seeds indoors in July and August. Planting them out two months later, and hope against hope, will have blooms in another nine months.

🇺🇲 Support American grown flowers. It is estimated 80%-85% of all cut-flowers sold in the USA are imported from other countries. It didn't used to be this way. Not to mention sprayed with pesticides and preservatives.

Perhaps I'm just tired and worn out from a long flower season, but locally grown flowers are worth every penny and then some.

📝 If you've read this far, please sign-up for our occasional newsletter on the bottom of our website: amesbouquets.com. We will be sharing in our newsletter first when our Bouquet Subscriptions go on sale 🎁, pre-order tulips 🌷 for Mother's Day, and hear our latest news and plans. We love asking for your imput too.

Thanks for the support!
