Betsy and Julian were married on the most perfect early November day. Not too cold and not too hot with a blue sky day that you only dream of. Their glamorous Four Seasons Hotel Washington DC wedding was classic and effortlessly beautiful, starting with Betsy's stunning gown!! We can't say what we love more - the simple modern flourish of a dainty and sleek mini-calla lily bouquet... or the charming and modern bow on the back of her dress. It all gives us major heart eyes! We have flowers for all the mothers in your life - the matriarchs, the grande dames, the mothers, grandmothers, future mothers or one who mothers others in the shop. Do you ever wonder what is behind some of the impressive facades that give Massachusetts Avenue its grandeur? Well, in today's blog post, we take you into the Cosmos Club. Featuring 6,000 linear feet of gold, the opulent ballroom's design draws inspiration from mid-18th century French architecture, including authentic architectural salvage from chateaux and 18th century townhouses. The venue's opulent and debonair ambiance was perfect for Lana and Pablo's fall wedding. And while the Cosmos Club is a lovely place to wed, it did not hurt that we had a GORGEOUS floral palette to work with for this romantic wedding!

We used a lush mix of dahlias, roses, astilbe, hydrangea, lisianthus and more in shades of mauve, pink and white. Lana's fall wedding vision was truly brought to life with the elegant and soft greens of eucalyptus, acacia and olive leaf. More on the blog today! (Photos by katienesbittphoto)

With all of the fall wedding proposals we've been writing, we suppose it's time to start exploring autumnal floral palettes again! September and October are THE peak wedding months in the DC area, and as we share moments from Rachel and Andrew's day, you'll see what all of the fuss is about! What's not to love? Plenty of texture, big fluffy dahlia blooms, and the perfect balance of rich bold colors and soft neutral tones to bring a space to life. Woodend Sanctuary & Mansion in Chevy Chase, MD can only be described as enchanting. And equally so for of Hannah and Nick's wedding! Our childhood sweethearts lucked out with the most perfect October weather, as they held their Woodend wedding ceremony in the wooded grove with reception to follow in the elegant tent. The Woodend wedding in classic white and green featured textured nod to fall with rich foliages and berries amidst the mix of classic white botanicals. More on the blog today! Is there really anything better than lush garden wedding at Dumbarton Househouse? Spring, summer, winter or, in this case, fall! - Dumbarton House sets an elegant tone any time of year. From the gracious entry through the wrought iron gate to the exquisite north garden, and grand staircases leading to the lower courtyard, the venue creates a luxurious garden atmosphere filled with Federal period details. Today's blog post highlights a fresh fall wedding at the @westingeorgetown, located at one of our favorite spots in DC. The striking ballroom features towering columns, hardwood floors, clean modern decor and a European-style courtyard with an elegant fountain and surrounded by walls of French windows. It's the perfect blend of old and new.

Kate and Sam were a dream to work with, and the pandemic gave us an extra year to look forward to the special event. Romantic white florals were accented with fine textures such as Queen Anne's lace, larkspur, ranunculus, lisianthus, and more. Soft green silver dollar and parvifolia were mixed in to provide movement. We love how the soft greens were off set by the deeper green of the bridesmaids' dresses and other wedding details. Do you watch 'Modern Family'? It has been one of my pandemic binges. One of my favorite moments is when Kam and Mitchel are planning their wedding. Feeling overwhelmed with their ever-growing budget (anyone else relate?), Mitchel suggests cutting back on the centerpieces. A very deserving couple - Nicole and Cina - finally had their “I Do’s” last fall at the @reaganitcdc after waiting through a year’s postponement. Though originally planned for the prior year, the aesthetic for the big day remained unchanged. Their vision was of a modern wedding with copper details - clean lined in its choice of containers but also loose, organic and almost rustic when it came to the flowers. More on the blog today! A gorgeous mock up at @2941restaurant with @sarasocialscene kicks off the weekend, before we head to a private flower arranging workshop for a bachelorette party at the @mandarinoriental. The theme of the week seems to be purple, so you know we're going to have some of our favorite purple and lavender blooms in the studio!

Purple is such an elusive color in flowers. Is it a pinky lavender you’re after? Or a purple full of pale and gray tones? A more antique hue with dusty brown undertones? A rich grape? Or plum?!? Any which way, one thing is for sure - there's no season that does purple better than spring.

Boy, oh, boy, did we have a journey to "I Do" with Annie and Sean! When we first started discussions, our beloved couple had their sights on a winter glam, New Year's eve wedding with lots of sparkle and a modern, black-white-and gold scheme. Like many couples, they temporarily shelved their plans gauging the impacts of Covid. With renewed certainty came renewed plans, and despite the setbacks - and with some small tweaks to the initial design - their romantic summer blush wedding came to be! One of the interesting quirks in this second year of Covid has been the chance to work at absolutely new venues we have never been to before. There have been far more than typical, including the Commandant's House. Located in southeast DC between 8th, 9th, I & G Streets, the site is the home for the Marine Barracks and a home for the Commandant.

It was also the site of Stephanie and Jeffrey's garden party wedding this fall. With touches of blue throughout, it was a sight to see. More on the blog today! (Photos by @aliraehenry)
