The Outlaws (with Special Guest Jim Fish) will be stampeding into Albany, NY this Thursday, June 29th, for this week's edition of the city's Alive @ 5 Concert Series. After a stint with my band in the early 1970's, Jim moved to NYC and then to Tampa, Florida with singer/songwriter/guitarist Henry Paul. While in Tampa, Henry, Jim, Monte Yoho (drums), Ray Gerber (sax) and Frank O'Keefe (bass) formed a band called Sienna. Jim returned to Upstate New York in the mid 1970's and we put together a country-rock group called Silver Chicken. Meanwhile, the remnants of Sienna joined forces with guitarists Billy Jones and Hughie Thomasson and the "Florida Guitar Army", aka, The Outlaws, were born. The Outlaws were one of the first bands to sign with Clive Davis' label, Arista. I've seen Jim play with the Outlaws many times and it's always a treat. To this day, Jim's influence on the band's style is undeniable. Sadly, Billy, Hughie and Frank have all passed away but Henry and Monte have done a remarkable job keeping The Outlaws magic alive. They sound as good as ever, featuring a blend of their classic hits and fantastic new songs. Don't miss this opportunity to see Jim Fish and The Outlaws FOR FREE!
