She can still make the whole place shimmer.
Just look at that smile!
Best believe this beauty has been working hard to make all the memories this “last first” week of high school.

Unlike her very first week of school, Mom only helped out minimally to make this Senior’s vision a reality. Can’t wait to keep celebrating! Mainly, so I don’t dissolve into a puddle. Our baby girl is on her final lap!

So.Many.Changes.
And feelin some kinda way.
Lookin at the senior girl and the endless micro-celebrations. The first lasts.
Lookin at 50. Getting older is weird.
Lookin at the empty nest. Feelin absolutely unprepared.

(Sigh) But growth is natural unlike my hair. But this fresh look makes me feel optimistic. Thanks to Hannah Jo Martin•AR S**g Queen •Custom Color Specialist at Strays Collective

Like growth and change are the old friends who’ve decided to stick with me for the long haul.

In 8th grade, my mom gave in and let me pick my first day outfit. Not to waste this opportunity, I carefully selected a “moody” brocade vest at Puff’s $12 Zoo, 2 t-shirts to switch out, and 2 (TWO) pairs of duckhead shorts. The vest had the cutest bronze buttons, and the Payless black wingtips were a little too wide (per usual with pleather shoes) but completed the outfit. The first day vibes were as high as my hair.

Here’s to another year of connecting our business community with Conway’s finest! So many hopeful, fresh faces ready for a new year. It’s a gift to celebrate our amazing Conway educators each August.

Bibbidi Bobbidi BOO!
To the these queens in their crowns.
Bid Day and Reveal Day called for the royal treatment …all the crowns + tulle.
Senior Year for these girls has commenced.
Making ALL the memories.

Over the past nearly 7 years, this room has served our family in multiple ways.
To name a few…
- COVID Classroom - for 3 out of 4 of us. I knew there was a reason that we decided not to move the piano up the steps into the main living area in 2019! S/O to those students who spent time with me in here via the zoom classroom!
- Zoom central for endless meetups for all 4 of us.
- Movie nights with Harry Potter or the Gilmore Girls binges. Snuggled up on the couch to watch what we want when the main TV was occupied with something else.
- Month after month of plugging away on the MBA studies.
- Throw in an air mattress for an extra guest or 2.

In this season, we shifted it yet again to a place to work out. Knock out an indoor training ride. A spot to Craft. Paint. Study. Work on College applications. Conduct interviews. (Yep. For real.)…surrounded by collected, meaningful art. Either things used to create or pieces created by family members. Those who are still with us. Even those who created from a ship in WWII. Each piece has a story.

And just like these stories, versatility and change too are beautiful. Switching things up to meet new seasons and challenges and what a luxury to dream big and get things done. But also to leave a few things “yet to be done”. Special shout out to the hubs Patrick Henry , who almost always makes it happen. Even with a fractured wrist. Sorry, babe…confetti isn’t always kind.🥴😅

A slow Summer Saturday arrives on time.
When the heart actually aches for a break, a beautiful separation, a welcome fracture.
And it’s so good.

A cup brewed at home and enjoyed in a mug nearly as old as the lips who sip.
A piece of pinon picked just for the joy of remembering the last time that time passed at the whims of the living and not according to the clock.

Celebrating Saturday. And not even thinking about what needs to be done. I’m sure I’ll regret it later.

Patience. Persistence. Consistency. Faith.
(Most) Good things (often) take (a lot of) time.

This will be the first Summer for figs.
This fig tree was planted with great expectation in 2021.
In 2022, the hubs thought it was a w**d and whacked it with the w**d whacker. RIP fig tree. But…

Despite the odds, the little fig persisted and continued to grow after being hopefully tended, safely encircled by a piece of edging, fertilized, and mulched.

A late frost this year zapped the buds and any hope of fruit. But…

The green leaves budded and burst from branches. Filling the air with the scent of sweet hope and this week…fruit!! This will be the first year in 5 long years that we actually have fruit from this little grocery store tree.

This fig tree has not withered. It has, in fact, blossomed and finally, come into its purpose, bearing fruit. A reminder and living proof that when we are patient and consistent, remaining hopeful, steadfast, believing, even in the setbacks, the fruit appears.
And it is delightful.
