Dear friends!
We are a family creative tandem "Retro" from Belgorod, Russia: I am a singer-composer, Alexander Prokofiev and my mother - poet-interpreter Ayissa Prokofieva.
We should like to tell you about our creation.
Already during long 19 years, using our knowledge of foreign languages and of the enchanting power of music, we, with my mother, are working on the musical- literary Project "Russian Retro Songs and Ballads on the Language of Foreign Listeners." During this time of many sleepless nights and evenings we translated 50 beautiful songs of composers and poets of the past years in English and German, as well as the old Russian romances and folk songs. Also 18 of our own works were born too, some of which were written by us right in English and in German .
Our primary aim is to convey to the hearts of listeners all around the world the extraordinary beauty and depth of the content of musical-song culture of our fathers and grandfathers!
It's already in full swing the 21-first century, but today a problem remains, which is that between the cultures of different countries is still hanging a huge «iron curtain» of misunderstanding the content of musical works due to ignorance of the language in which they are performed. And we, as art workers, feel obliged to raise it, thereby erasing the edges and obstacles to mutual understanding between the peoples, which is especially important in our difficult time of multicultural world!
We have already declared the entire Planet about our innovative musical and literary Project that helps to solve the problem of misunderstanding between the peoples of the world, successfully concerting at the Olympic Games in Sochi-2014 with our very interesting program, where we were invited for the performances after we won a very serious international contest-selection of the best artists and bands for concert events at the Games. At the Olympics our songs were very enthusiastically perceived by the public both domestic and by foreign too!
In the world everybody knows such songs as "Kalinka-Malinka", «Dark Eyes», but none of the foreigners knows the content of these fine songs, and of many others, too, to say nothing of the content of beautiful Russian romances with their extraordinary beauty and depth!
And after the Olympics-2014 we would like very much to continue our started work, the further implementation of our creative Project, which lies in the objective to carry out musical-song treasury of our homeland by foreign languages and by magic power of art. It will undoubtedly contribute and promote to understanding between the peoples of different cultures and religions and for peace in the world!
Our Project, friends, which is designed and aimed mainly to middle-aged people, of course, needs to be supported by the public and sponsors. Because we are a family of people with disabilities and our material means to realize the creative ideas are very limited, we forced to seek the support of the Internet-public and to ask you to join us in participation in implementation of the Project, providing our creative tandem a possible assistance.
We have a lot of creative plans for the 2014th-15th:
(At first) We plan to give a lot of our high-quality concerts primarily for the elderly, veterans of labor, pensioners and disabled people of our city and region, for which we need some amplifying equipment. These concerts are planned in the nursing homes, hospitals, libraries and etc.
(Secondly) - We are going to record audio album at home by ourselves with the songs from our Project and to give it for free to listeners of our concerts, so well as to send a certain amount of them for leading libraries in the country and abroad, that requires appropriate equipment for the home studio.
(In third place) - We really want to make our dream - it is to organize and to implement a travel with our live concert performances in the Russian cultural centers of European cities such as - Berlin, Hamburg, Prague, Bratislava, Vienna, Budapest, Novi Sad, Belgrade, Sofia in order to promote musical Russian treasury of song for people living in Europe, both Russians and foreigns, who loves Russian songs and romances, and are interested in Russian culture. For this purpose, of course, we need a lot of financial resources, because the “Russian Houses” abroad lay all the costs on the artists, in addition all the concerts are charitable.
We would be so happy, my friends, to see namely you at these our concerts!

This audio album consists of 28 rare and exclusive records of beautiful retro songs, where my singing is performed by my own accompaniment of classical guitar, and adorned with air improvisations of Russian balalaika. Nowadays, somewhere purchase of records of this nature is virtually impossible, because the show-market is filled with mostly only modern pop-music.
