騎著單車，去夜裡讀一座城
【鎮港星光 × 國際視野】Night Ride × Language Tour
前鎮區，白天看是一個模樣，到了夜裡，又像換了一張臉。
昨天傍晚，鎮港園社區大學與小朱叔叔帶著來自高雄的鄉親一同見證鎮港星光。
從捷運凱旋站出發，車輪慢慢經過草衙的廟宇、前鎮夜市的人聲，再一路騎向亞洲新灣區。天色由藍轉黑，港邊的燈一盞一盞亮起來，海風也在我們身旁，多走了一段路。
這一堂室外課程，沒有黑板，也沒有固定的座位，跨上單車乘著風出發！
黃盛譽老師把英文帶上了路，讓大家在真實的旅行情境中，練習如何介紹信仰、美食、產業、建築與自己的家鄉。
英文從生活騎動。

旅行本來就不是考試，是交流！

01｜草衙開基易牙祖師府
Kaiji Yi Ya Patriarch Temple
這座廟奉祀春秋時期著名的御廚易牙。因為廚藝高超，後世餐飲從業者尊奉他為廚藝祖師，祈求技藝精進、工作順利、生意興隆。
廟宇的發展與高雄餐飲產業及地方廚師密切相關。直到今天，仍有許多廚師、餐飲工作者與相關科系學生前來參拜，也延續尊師重道與技藝傳承的精神。
English Introduction
Kaiji Yi Ya Patriarch Temple is dedicated to Yi Ya, a legendary royal chef from ancient China. Because of his exceptional cooking skills, later generations honored him as a patron saint of chefs.
Many cooks and food professionals visit the temple to pray for better skills, successful careers, and prosperity in the food business.

庖丁祖師與游刃有餘
Pao Ting and Effortless Mastery
庖丁解牛的故事，象徵技藝純熟之後，面對困難仍能從容處理。今天所說的「游刃有餘」，便是形容一個人經驗豐富、能力成熟，處理事情毫不費力。
“You ren you yu” describes someone who is so skilled and experienced that even difficult tasks can be handled calmly, smoothly, and with confidence.

02｜草衙龍鳳宮
Caoya Longfeng Temple
草衙龍鳳宮主要奉祀碧霞元君。碧霞元君源自中國北方泰山信仰，民間常向她祈求婦女平安、孩童健康、生育順利與家庭和諧。
「龍鳳」象徵陰陽平衡、吉祥與圓滿。這裡不只是信仰場所，也是地方居民交流、參與祭典與維繫社區情感的重要空間。
English Introduction
Caoya Longfeng Temple is known for worshipping Bi Xia Yuan Jun, a compassionate Taoist goddess associated with the protection of women, children, and families.
The dragon and phoenix symbolize balance, harmony, and prosperity. Today, the temple is also an important community center for local residents.
重要文化｜扶鸞
Fu-luan Spirit Writing
扶鸞又稱扶乩或扶箕，是道教與民間信仰中的傳統儀式。鸞生以鸞筆在沙盤上書寫，相傳藉此傳達神明的勸世文字、道德指引或信眾所求的答覆。
Fu-luan is a traditional spirit-writing ritual. During the ceremony, a medium guides a stylus across a tray of sand, producing messages believed to come from a deity.
在臺灣，扶鸞也常與儒家倫理及儒宗神教相結合，透過鸞文推廣忠孝節義與社會道德。

南斗星君｜Nan Dou Xing Jun
主管人的壽命與福祿，信眾常祈求健康、長壽與事業順利。
The Southern Dipper Star Lord is associated with lifespan, fortune, blessings, and protection.
註生娘娘｜Zhu Sheng Niang Niang
主管生育、孕期與嬰兒平安，許多家庭向她祈求順產與健康子嗣。
She is the goddess of fertility and childbirth, worshipped for safe pregnancy, healthy babies, and family blessings.
眼王夫人｜Yan Wang Furen
掌管視力與眼睛健康，也被視為智慧及洞察力的象徵。
She is associated with eyesight, eye health, wisdom, and insight.

03｜前鎮夜市
Cianjhen Night Market
如果只把這裡當成一座夜市，便錯過了它背後的時代故事。
1966年，臺灣在高雄成立加工出口區，大量電子、成衣與玩具工廠吸引各地青年來此工作。工人下班後需要吃飯、休息與交朋友，夜市也就在這樣的生活需求中逐漸形成。
所以，前鎮夜市不只販售食物，也保存了臺灣從農業社會走向工業社會的集體記憶。

Welcome to Cianjhen Night Market.
This is more than just a place to enjoy local food. It also tells an important story about Taiwan’s economic development.
In 1966, Taiwan established an Export Processing Zone in Cianjhen. Thousands of young workers came to Kaohsiung, and the night market grew as a place for them to eat, relax, and meet friends after work.
Today, visitors can enjoy not only delicious food, but also a part of Taiwan’s modern history.

04｜高雄展覽館與亞洲新灣區
Kaohsiung Exhibition Center and Asia New Bay Area
騎進亞洲新灣區，我們看見的是高雄港近年的另一種模樣。
過去，這片土地承載港口、倉儲與重工業；如今，展覽館、總圖、旅運中心與公共空間陸續出現，讓港區從生產基地，慢慢轉型為市民可以接近、散步、學習與旅行的地方。
English Introduction
The Asia New Bay Area represents Kaohsiung’s transformation from an industrial harbor into a modern waterfront district.
Today, the area combines exhibitions, culture, transportation, public spaces, and international tourism.

05｜高雄港旅運中心
Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal
高雄港長期肩負貨櫃運輸、原料進口與工業發展的重要任務。過去，港區與一般市民之間，總有一道不容易跨越的界線。
2023年啟用的高雄港旅運中心，象徵港口角色的轉變。
船隻帶來的不再只有貨物，也帶來旅客、文化與城市交流。高雄港由一座以產業為主的商港，逐步走向國際郵輪與觀光門戶。

Welcome to the Kaohsiung Port Cruise Terminal.
For many years, Kaohsiung Harbor was mainly a commercial port supporting Taiwan’s industries.
The Cruise Terminal opened in 2023 and welcomes international cruise passengers. It represents Kaohsiung’s transformation from a cargo port into a gateway for tourism and international exchange.
Today, people arrive here not only to move goods, but also to discover Taiwan.

06｜高雄市立圖書館總館
Kaohsiung Main Public Library
這座圖書館於2014年啟用。
它不只是閱讀與收藏知識的地方，也代表高雄對未來城市的想像。自然採光、深陽台、綠色植栽與節能設計，使建築與環境之間有了更多呼吸的空間。
未來的城市，不只需要更快速、更便利，也必須學習對環境更溫柔。

The Kaohsiung Main Public Library is more than a place to read books. It represents Kaohsiung’s vision for a sustainable future.
The building uses natural light, large balconies, plants, and energy-saving designs. It shows how knowledge, architecture, and environmental responsibility can come together in a modern city.

07｜台塑王氏昆仲公園
Formosa Plastics Wang Brothers Park
這裡曾是台塑舊廠區，也是臺灣塑膠工業發展的重要起點之一。
1950年代，臺灣仍以農業為主。隨著塑膠、紡織與製造業發展，城市逐漸改變，許多人的工作與生活也開始走進工業時代。
今天，工廠已經離開，舊產業基地成為可以散步、運動與休憩的公園。
一座城市將生產空間還給居民，也象徵它開始重新思考：經濟發展之後，我們希望留下什麼樣的生活？
English Introduction
This park was once an important Formosa Plastics factory site and one of the places where Taiwan’s plastics industry began.
In the 1950s, Taiwan gradually transformed from an agricultural society into an industrial economy.
Today, the factory site has become a public park. It represents another stage of urban development—from industrial production to green space, community life, and a better quality of living.

一路騎著，我越來越覺得，自行車是一種很誠實的旅行方式。
它不會快到讓人錯過，也不會慢到抵達不了。
風吹過臉，汗留在背上，廟宇、市場、工廠、圖書館與港灣，就不再只是地圖上的名字，而成為身體真正走過的風景。
領騎，也不只是把一群人安全帶到終點。
有時候，是替大家把一扇門推開。
門後面，也許是一座城市的歷史，也許是一個陌生的英文單字，也許是一個人第一次鼓起勇氣，試著向世界介紹自己的家鄉。
昨夜的高雄很美。
但我記得的，不只是燈火。
我記得大家在夜市裡的笑聲，記得海風吹來時，有人抬頭望著港灣，也記得我們在最硬派的工業港都裡，騎出了一段柔軟的生活。
城市仍然在那裡。
只是經過這一晚，我們與它的關係，又近了一些。
