Chiseled by hand by enslaved Africans, every stone of this tunnel holds the strength, survival, and stories left behind by those who came before us.
Although Caribbean American Heritage Month & Immigrant Heritage month has passed, we continue to celebrate our roots every day. 🇭🇹
From a flag that represents a painful chapter in Haiti’s history, to the flag we proudly carry today — Haiti’s story has always been one of resilience. Through oppression, struggles, victories, and setbacks, we continue to rise.
Standing here in Trinidad, a part of the Caribbean that shares so much history and strength, I’m reminded that our stories are connected.
52 years later, Haiti fought for a place on the World Cup stage — and even though the journey ended, the pride remains. Because being Haitian has never been just about the wins… it’s about the strength to keep going.
From the ashes, we rise. 🇭🇹❤️💙 Remember there is always light at the end of the tunnel.
