• MTN Bushfire is delighted to have donated over ZAR 3m to our festival beneficiaries Young Heroes & boMake Rural Projects to date.
• In 2020, MTN Bushfire streamed and broadcast the first-ever MTN Bushfire Digital Festival to raise funds for our festival beneficiaries. Viewers from 63 countries tuned in, donating over ZAR 100,000 to help vulnerable youth and rural women in Eswatini.
• The MTN Bushfire Schools Festival is open to every Primary and High School in Eswatini, involving over 9,000 students and teachers since its foundation in 2010.
• Over 1,000 artists and acts from over 80 countries applied to perform at MTN Bushfire 2019.
• It takes more than 900 people to stage MTN Bushfire each year, including management, artists, security, catering and hospitality.
• MTN Bushfire 2019 contributed over ZAR 45m to the economy of Eswatini outside of the festival, according to an independent survey conducted by the North-West University in South Africa. In comparison, MTN Bushfire 2011 generated an estimated income of ZAR 12m in tourist receipts for Eswatini.
