LET ME MAKE THIS VERY CLEAR A MUSIC PROMOTER IS NOT A CHARITY ORGANIZATION.
Music is business . And there is no business in this world that can run without Managers and Marketeers.
So before you musicians blame others, first work on yourselves.
A music promoter's job is to publicize and promote upcoming local and national live events and concerts. We organize events, we advertise, we bring in as many people as possible, which in return brings in profit. that is the business.
Most of you musicians are chasing connections in the industry that's a losing strategy. Opportunities are NOT built on connections, they are built on meaningful relationships and value.
There is a major reason why I bring international artists to Juba. It's to connect South Sudan to the world and to expose our unseen talents by giving our local artists a platform to share with international artists.
It saddens me that most of you don't see this positive effect on the industry.
The real problem is at ground level. We as citizens of this country don't support our own industry, that's the fact. Support starts from the ground, then international support will follow.
If we want to grow, let's learn to love our own music. Support is subscribing to their YouTube channels, sharing their content buying tickets, streaming their music. That's how an industry is built.
