Rooted in the mod and scooter scene since the late 80’s Isa can still be seen on her mint restored Lambretta and Vespa scooters around the city. Her love for the 1960’s has also shaped her taste in music, and it started in exploring her parents vinyl record collection of soul and r&b.

A regular at Velvet Nights since meeting Geraldine in a record store, surprise surprise 😂
In her collection you’ll find Northern soul stompers, 60’s and mod revival anthems mixed with 90’s brit, post punk, new wave and ska. She has played records at scooter rallies and many other events and her sets are made for the dance floor.
On International Womens day Isa has been known to mix in some childhood pop heroines like Madonna and Kim Wilde to her fun filled sets.

Originally from Ireland but now based in Gothenburg - Sweden, I was 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙖𝙩 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙎𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙎𝙤𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡, Dublin and I've played 𝙈𝙤𝙙 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙎𝙤𝙪𝙡 𝙘𝙡𝙪𝙗𝙨 all across Ireland, the UK and Europe. Pow City and Bubbles in Dublin, AfterGlow in Belfast, Sweet and Rowdy in Copenhagen and Somewhere Down the Line in Cleethorpes to name just a few of the places I've guested 🎶🎵
I have many nights I count as highlights, among those are opening for The Blades, and hosting a number of bands including Freedom 35's, The Urges and Fontaines DC💣

These days you can usually find me behind the decks at Velvet Nights or propping up the desk at Peckham Soul.

Velvet Nights IWD Party is my favorite night of the year where I get to play all my favorite female artists, from RnB and soul legends like Big Mama Thornton and Barbara Jones, Irish legends like Sinead O'Connor and the Cranberries to cheesy (but brilliant imho) Betty Boo to B52s.

Ingela is a long time collector and part of the Velvet Nights DJ collective. She has a fantastic collection of punk, indie, and rock among other genres and is a wealth of knowledge. Hello!
I am Annika I have been playing records for many years and a lot of different genres but mainly anything from the 60s to 70s really.
I started collecting vinyl from a young age, it started with my fascination for The Beatles at the age of thirteen.
I have played at several different venues here, there and everywhere ;-)
When I don’t play records, I play music on my radio show Dazed and Confused on Gothenburg student radio focusing on small or unknown bands.
I guess you could say that music is my biggest interest.

Introducing

Soul lover since she first heard Supremes - You Can't Hurry Love at an amusement park. Dara spent her late teens chasing nighters, dancing to northern, modern, X-over soul - she loves nothing more than a good shuffle on the dance floor!

Dara has spun records at Soulastatic, Dirty Souls, Cleethorpes, Soul Unity and Velvet Nights and has played at each Velvet Nights International Women's Day Party since 2023.

Dara is not only a soul lover but has been known on occasion to spin some guilty pleasures at Velvet Nights IWDP, such as Susie Quantro and Salt 'n' Pepper.

Introducing our second guest record selector....

Kristina has been collecting records for many years but only started playing records out in recent years. Kristina has played under the Velvet Nights banner at Majornas Bryggeri, Peckham Soul Gbg and Ego Distillers, among others. Interest in soul began with Realside and Soulastatic here in Gbg and she often attends events across Europe.
Kristina is a lover of all things retro including interior design and clothes, and has impeccable taste especially when it comes to music.

So, who am I?!
If you shout Camilla I will turn my head.
Born and raised in the northern part of Sweden, moved to Gothenburg a whole bunch of years ago and I'm still here.
Mother of two. Owner of books and vinyl. Love, love, love hectic nights behind the decks, stomping the dancefloor or sitting alone with a cup of coffee and a good book. And everything in between.

I've been DJ-ing for some years now and it just seems to be more fun the older I get! Soulastatic (Gothenburg), Retreat (Malmö), Soul 4 Real (Bilbao) and different bars/restaurants in Sweden is where you've been able to listen to me live. I'm also one of the founding members of

I started my soul journey as a punter at Kings Hall, Stoke-on-Trent, and moved as many others from the northern scene to more modern sounds. Still always have a few stompers with me to a gig for the fun of it and because of the goosebumps.
