It’s not just 7 hours of your wedding day. It’s an entire week filled with memories, emotions, laughter and the people you love most.

It starts with the days of preparation - the excitement, the little moments, the anticipation. Then comes the celebration: endless toasts, dancing, laughter and unforgettable moments shared with your guests.

And when the wedding is over, the memories don’t end.

There are still the next few days to sit together, talk about what happened, laugh about the unexpected moments, relive your favourite parts and simply enjoy being surrounded by the people who travelled to celebrate you.

What is crucial when planning your own wedding?

Definitely human interaction, character and flexibility.

The second most important thing for me is the contract — mutual understanding and, most importantly, delivery.

When you are planning your wedding for the first time, there is something I really want every couple to remember:

If there is a detail that is important to you, make sure it is written in the contract.

And don’t be afraid to ask for changes.

The contract a supplier sends you is not necessarily a final, untouchable document. You can discuss it, question it, modify it and go back and forth as many times as needed until both sides genuinely agree on what is being promised.

Because months later, when you are closer to your wedding day, you don’t want to be asking, “But we agreed on this…”

You want to be able to look at the contract and know exactly what was agreed.

Have you ever struggled with a contract or an agreement when planning something important?

This is actually one of the most crucial roles of a wedding planner — to protect you.

To advise you on what needs to be agreed, help you understand what you are signing, make sure what was promised is clearly documented, follow up on deadlines and, when the time comes, make sure the supplier delivers exactly what you agreed.

Because wedding planning is not only about making everything beautiful.

It is also about making sure that what you agreed, paid for and trusted someone to deliver actually happens.

And honestly, this is where having someone experienced beside you can make such a difference overall. 🤍

One thing I always tell my couples when choosing a wedding venue: don’t choose it only because it looks beautiful. 🤍

Of course, the view matters. The food matters. The setting matters.

But something that matters even more is the team behind it.

Because no matter how perfectly you plan your wedding, there will always be things you simply cannot control.

Maybe it starts raining just before the most important “I do.”
Maybe you wake up in the morning and realise that the ceremony location needs to change because the water level is too high at the chosen jetty.
Maybe the tables and chairs need to be covered while we wait for the weather to pass.

Or maybe it’s one of a million little things you could never have predicted.

And this is where your wedding planner and the venue team become so important.

These are the moments when we step in, communicate with the venue, make the decisions, find the solutions and coordinate everything behind the scenes — so the couple doesn’t even have to know there was ever a problem - even unexpected rain.

You need a venue team that stays calm, works hand in hand with your planner and simply says:

“Don’t worry. We’ll take care of it.” 🤍

For me, that is what makes a truly great wedding venue.

Not just how beautiful it looks on a sunny day — but how the people behind it handle the unexpected.

Because your wedding day doesn’t have to be perfect to be magical.

So when choosing your venue, look beyond the view. Get to know the team. And choose a wedding planner you trust to take care of everything you should never have to worry about on that special day. 🤍
