Meet our Guest Teacher: We’re thrilled to welcome Luísa Barros😃

Biography
Luísa has been passionate about dance since childhood, starting with Classical Ballet before also dedicating herself to another passion, classical piano. Her journey into American dances began with Tap Dance in 2006 and Lindy Hop in 2007, later exploring a wide range of styles including Solo Jazz, Blues, Balboa, S**g, Boogie Woogie, Contemporary Dance, and Forró.

In 2014, she discovered Blues and fell in love with its language and expression. Since then, she has attended several international Blues festivals and started teaching in 2017 to help grow and share the local Blues community. Alongside teaching and occasionally DJing, she has also been involved in organizing Swing and Blues festivals and social dance events in Porto.

What Luísa values most in dance is the connection with the music, with her partner, and with herself, using the body as a musical instrument and a powerful form of self-expression.

Meet our Guest Teacher: We’re thrilled to welcome Edmilson Botelho!

Biography
Edmilson was born and raised on the islands of São Tomé and Príncipe, where from an early age he was immersed in the vibrant rhythms of traditional African dances: Ússua, Puíta, Socopé, Funaná, Cadence, Kizomba, Semba, Kuduro… as well as the energy of POP dance.

At the age of 17, he moved to Porto, Portugal, where he discovered his passion for Lindy Hop and Blues. His determination and love for movement led him to teach and co-direct Hop Dance Studio in Porto, sharing his contagious energy and strong sense of rhythm with dancers from all backgrounds.

With his natural charisma and humility, Edmilson creates a class atmosphere where everyone feels free to connect, express themselves, and fully embrace their personality through dance.

Meet our Guest Teacher: We’re thrilled to welcome BiBi!

Biography:
Bibi has been dancing for over 30 years and teaching for more than 20, but it was in Blues that she found her true perfect match. Her passion for blues music and dance has taken her around the world, where she teaches, shares, and inspires communities across Europe, the USA, and Asia.

Known for her deep respect for African American cultural roots, Bibi brings authenticity, creativity, and a strong connection to both the music and her dance partners. Beyond the dance floor, she’s also an experienced DJ, spreading her love for blues music and keeping dancers energized wherever she goes.

This month we’re getting together again for another Blues-filled evening at Bamu Zunta Mon

We’ll have:
* Blues workshop - Close Embrace with Luísa & Edmilson
* Social dance + Live Concert with Azula Queen

As usual, we’ll have some snacks, feel free to bring something to share with everyone!
Let’s celebrate together to the sound of Blues

Schedule:
* 6:00 – 7:00 PM → Workshop with Luísa & Edmilson
* 7:00 – 9:00 PM → Social dance + Live Concert by Azula Queen

Entrance: e2 (minimum contribution to the venue)

Note: The workshop and concert are free, but donations are welcome to support the artists.
