🇵🇹 Destaques do último dia do Portugal PDC Place!
Um dia com muita partilha de ideias, apresentação de investigações de doutoramento e que, terminou, numa mesa redonda que envolveu vários participantes e as suas opiniões sobre o papel do Design Participativo e do seu papel na academia. Foram 4 dias de evento, duas faculdades, vários convidados e muitas ideias, opiniões e partilhas. Obrigada a todos os que estiveram presentes e tornaram o Portugal PDC Place possível!

🇬🇧 Highlights from the last day of Portugal PDC Place!
A day with a lot of sharing of ideas, presentation of doctoral research and which ended with a round table that involved several participants and their opinions on the role of Participatory Design and its role in academia. There were 4 days of the event, two faculties, several guests and many ideas, opinions and shares. Thank you to everyone who was present and made Portugal PDC Place possible!

O dia de hoje marca o primeiro dia na Faculdade de Arquitectura, Universidade de Lisboa. Foi um dia de partilha de experiências com inauguração de exposição, aula aberta e workshop. Deixamos o nosso agradecimento a todos os professores, convidados e participantes que se juntaram a nós!

The first day of Portugal PDC Place was filled with various activities, from enriching lectures to exploratory moments of a playful nature. We highlight the lecture by Professor Andy Dearden, from the organizing committee of the PDC22 (UK), but also the presence of the representatives of both institutions, of all the guests, as well as all those present. Tomorrow we get together for another day to promote and discuss the reality of Participatory Design 😊

🇵🇹 Para abrir o evento, logo após a sessão de abertura, contamos com um convidado muito especial. O professor Andy Dearden, da Sheffield Hallam Universidade, UK, e membro do comité organizador do PDC 2022 irá juntar-se online para uma contextualização do evento e a força do Design Participativo como metodologia. Não pode mesmo perder. Aproveite as últimas horas para se inscrever e assista gratuitamente a este evento!

🇬🇧 To open the event, right after the opening session, we had a very special guest. Professor Andy Dearden, from Sheffield Hallam University, UK, and member of the organising committee of PDC 2022 will join us online for a contextualization of the event and the strength of Participatory Design as a methodology. You can't miss it. Take advantage of the last few hours to register and participate in this event for free!

📌About Professor Andy Dearden:
Professor Andy's work is particularly concerned with enabling people and groups who may have limited resources, or limited experience with technology, to shape systems for themselves. He worked with private, public & third sector organizations in the UK, South Asia, Indonesia and Africa. With funding from the National Institute for Healthcare Research (NIHR), he worked with the Collaboration for Leadership in Applied Health Research and Care – South Yorkshire (CLAHRC-SY) to promote User-centred Healthcare Design (UCHD). He is currently advising Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust on staff participation in IT innovation.
In the UK, Andy have been working with community organisations and social enterprises to understand and develop innovative approaches both to designing technology and driving community development.
His current main focus is on finding ethical and effective approaches to research in Information and Communication Technologies ‘for Development’ (ICTD).

📌About Filipe Cruz:
Graduated in Graphic Design at ESAD.CR, he was the art director of Máxima magazine. Since 2020, he is a PhD Design student at FAUL and a researcher (collaborating member) at CIAUD. His research focuses on designing a conceptual model, multidisciplinary and articulated in various media, supported by an interactive interface, that promotes the territories and the connection between visitors and local community.
