Do you chop your cushions or leave them alone ?
I am firmly in favour of a gentle chop, particularly on my larger 65 x 65 cm cushions. With a good, full inner, I think it gives a big cushion a relaxed shape and helps it sit beautifully on the sofa.
But I don’t chop every cushion.
Softer, fuller cushions tend to take it beautifully; smaller, firmer or more structured cushions can look much better left as they are.
These particular cushions came from a special décor shop in South Africa and I have loved them for years. It’s one of the reasons I believe in choosing good cushions - beautiful fabrics, good quality inners and interesting fabrics that you will still love years later.
There really is no right or wrong with the cushion chop. It’s a styling choice — and that’s part of making a home your own.
