🎀 The IV Cracovian Congress of History Students will take place at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, offering a unique opportunity not only to participate in academic discussions, but also to discover one of Europe’s most historic cities. 🌇

🏰 In Kraków, history is vividly present in public space. As the former capital of Poland and a city of kings, coronations, and palaces, it charms visitors with landmarks such as the medieval Main Market Square and Wawel Castle (which we will, of course, show you in April!). Walking through Kraków is a journey across centuries, from the early Middle Ages to the twenty-first century. 📖

🎓 Founded in 1364, the Jagiellonian University is the oldest university in Poland and the heart of Kraków’s academic tradition. Collegium Novum, where the Congress will be held, has for generations served as a place of scholarly debate, research, and international academic exchange. 👨‍🎓👩‍🎓

🛬 Come and discover Kraków, immerse yourself in its history, and experience its unique academic atmosphere. 🧑‍🏫

🔹 mechanisms of memory and oblivion (commemoration and omission)
🔹 founding myths (legends justifying the existence of communities, mythologization of figures and processes)
🔹 popular culture and collective memory (Schindler’s List, Call of Duty: WW2, Troy)
🔹 difficult memory (the breakup of Yugoslavia, Middle East)
