On October 25th two members from the European Union (EU) Delegation visited the office of Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT). The members included Mr. Johan Sorensen, Counsellor, Head of Political, Trade and Communication Sector and Mr. Husnain A. Iftakhar, Senior Economist/Trade Officer. The EU representatives were welcomed by the Investor Relations Wing of PBIT which included Director General (DG) Mr. Jalal Hassan, Mr. Sheharyar Rana Deputy Manager IR and Ms. Sana Piracha, Assistant Manager.
This was a very important and informative meeting as the EU Delegation will be hosting the EU Trade Event in Lahore on December 3rd 2013. The aim of this event will be to enhance EU Trade visibility towards Punjab based industries and to promote EU Trade instruments. The event will also aim to create awareness about the EU Trade opportunities for Pakistan and vice versa.
Lastly, it was decided in the meeting that PBIT will be made focal for this event and will coordinate with all relevant stakeholders along with the EU Delegation.
