Muhammad Ali Successfully Hunts 2nd Blue Sheep in Ganjdoor Valley, Shimshal, in Gojal Upper Hunza

Shimshal,Gojal Hunza: In a remarkable feat of perseverance and skill, Muhammad Ali has successfully hunted his second blue sheep in the remote and treacherous Ganjdoor Valley of Shimshal, Upper Hunza. The hunt, organized under the Safari Club International (SCI) and supported by the Wild Sheep Foundation, highlights the unique challenges and opportunities for conservation-based sustainable hunting in the region.

Located at an impressive altitude of 4,800 meters (15,700 feet), the hunt required exceptional physical endurance, mental focus, and resilience. Muhammad Ali achieved his target from a distance of just 100 meters in extreme conditions, where temperatures plunged to a bone-chilling -30°C.

Two successful trophy hunts took place today in Khyber Community Conservation Area Gojal Hunza
Mr. Ronald, 81 years old , who hunted a trophy size Himalayan Ibex 41" in the Gardan pasture.

Second hunt by Mr Irfan Jan played a successful trophy size Himalayan Ibex 42" hunt from Karimabad Khyber.

It should be remembered that Khyber is the first conservation area where local people have been protecting wild life since 1990.

Gilgit Baltistan formerly known as the Northern Areas.

Gilgit Baltistan formerly known as the Northern Areas, is the northernmost political entity within the Pakistan, sandwiched between the Hindukush and Karakoram on the north and western Himalaya on the south. It borders Pakistan’s Khyber Pukhtunkhwaprovince to the west, Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor to the north, China to the northeast, Azad Kashmir to the south, and Jammu & Kashmir State of India to the southeast.

The Northern Areas comprise the two districts of Baltistan and the three districts of Gilgit (where the capital is located). Gilgit-Baltistan covers an area of 72,971 km² (28,174 mi²) and is highly mountainous. It has an estimated population approaching 1,000,000. Its administrative center is the city of Gilgit(population 216,760).

Hunza, an independent principality for 950 years which only came under Pakistani rule in 1974, is also located in this region.
