Applause N’ Cheers by Ancher Cua, Event Host

Given all my experience in hosting student activities way back College, it already equipped me with adequate knowledge in the field of events management and entertainment. I officially started hosting events on January 2015 with my first television exposure hosting the Mister and Miss Northwestern University. With humble beginnings, I’ve been invited to host events of some Local Government Units which paved way to host the biggest events such as Miss Association of Barangay Councils (ABC) Laoag pageant, Miss Laoag City Pamulinawen pageant, Imnas ti Banna pageant, Golden Birthday/50th Charter Day of Laoag City and the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte with the Himala Sa Buhangin and Miss Ilocos Norte pageant.

Greatly inspired to share my talent, it also opened me to opportunities in hosting international pageants such as the Mister Tourism World 2016 in Vigan City, Mister Grand International 2017 Preliminaries in Vigan City and 13th Mister International Preliminaries (2019) in Ilocos Norte. All thanks to my dearest friends for these great experiences!

“For those who watched the Facebook Live Streaming of the Mister Tourism World 2016 Finals (courtesy of Sash Factor), you might be wondering who the two good-looking hosts were that night. First, there is the dashingly bedimpled Ancher Cua whose showbiz-worthy face and gift of gab need to be discovered on a national level. He smoothly navigated the entire proceedings and handled the job so professionally well. Of course, he was teamed up with the charming Sam Tagorda who proved to have good chemistry with his male counterpart from start to finish. I won't be surprised if their hosting talents will get wider demands from hereon now. These two Ilocanos are surely on the way up! Due to these live and television exposures, I have also been discovered by event organizers, planners, coordinators and suppliers which gave me numerous events to host like weddings, birthdays/debuts, corporate events, mall shows, etc. Talking about special occasions, I proudly highlight the wedding of Atty. Michael Manotoc and Mrs. Kara Manglapus-Manotoc held on November 2017 in front of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Paoay Church. It was the grandest and biggest wedding reception hosting (with Mrs. Stella Gaspar-Gudoy) having more than 3,000 guests and spectators!
