Mother's Day is typically a joyful day of celebration. But this year, the second Sunday of May has been quite difficult and painful because it is our first time to celebrate without my Mom and Lola. Despite the sadness sinking in as the day progress, at the end of the day, there is never a reason to stop celebrating and to remember all of the beautiful ways they both shaped our lives.

Honestly, it is incredibly difficult to watch my friends, relatives, and even strangers celebrating Mother's Day, knowing that Mama and Nanay has passed away and we can't do the same. This day of celebration turned into a day of melancholy and nostalgia, but although they are no longer with us in a physical sense, their love will forever live within us.

I know that we cannot go around grieving all the time, though grief is still there and always will be. It can be a burden, but also an anchor. We get used to the weight, how it holds someone in place. Sometimes I wish for both of you to come back, but I don’t want you to suffer again.

Who would say that on this Mother’s Day I would be sending a greeting to heaven? 💔 I know you are always with us and we will always love and miss you both with all our heart. Until we meet again, Mama and Nanay.

Saw this clip yesterday and wala lang, I just want to share my sentiments 😅

Mauubos at mauubos ang tao, hindi ng pagmamahal sa partner mo --- mauubos ka ng buhay, ng sariling struggle, ng sariling issues. It is true na pag may partner tayo, we feel that we have someone to lean on someone who will fight "with" us on our journey. Pero it is still our personal battle.

I guess ang sad part lang dito, ung naubos ka na at nawalan din ng willingness ang partner to cheer for you. Sometimes, one has to sacrifice and compromise and do all the work for the relationship hindi dahil hindi ka na mahal kundi dahil your other half is "weak" or not (yet) winning his/her personal battle. A relationship is about two people who are there for each other at any times. When one is weak, the other one has to do all the fighting.
