Schedule:

Kids (5–11 y/o): 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM

Teens (12–17 y/o): 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Adults (18 y/o and above): 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM

What You’ll Learn Each Day:

Day 1: Getting in Rhythm

Introduction to the djembe and African drumming culture

Basic hand techniques: bass, tone, and slap

Simple rhythm patterns and call & response exercises

Rhythm games to develop timing and coordination

Day 2: Groove and Flow

Review of basic strokes and group warm-up

Learning a traditional West African rhythm

Ensemble play: layering parts and playing in sync

Body percussion and movement integration

Day 3: Express and Perform

Final rhythm practice and refinement

Improvisation and solo techniques

Group jam and collaborative performance prep

Culminating mini-performance for family and friends
