A Life Full of Thanksgiving
"One mistake can ruin a whole generation"
Genesis 13:9-11
We all came to a point or will encounter struggle in decision making within our lives, we ask our friends, parents and other people who we trust to help us to decide, but in the end we are the one who will choose what path to take.
There's a man in Israel's history named Lot, Abram's nephew, who came to a point that he needed to decide on a certain situation that will determine the future of his generation. On Genesis 13:9 he had to choose the land where he and his family will live. He then took his journey towards east to jordan near S***m and Gomorrah because it was well watered and will benefit his family and his herd.
In our lives we all decide what is good for us, we choose the best toy we want, eat our favorite food, take the college course we dreamt and get a job that will benefit us and our family not knowing that we took the path that God hath not given us. We always put God's plan on the least of our priorities.
When Lot and his family lived in the east, a war came and they were taken to be captives but when they were saved the king of s***m asked for them to stay. When we are out of God's plan we will encounter difficulties in our lives and will come to a point that we don't know what to do and yet the evil will come upon us and help us thinking that it is God's provision. We call it the wiles of the devil.
If we pursue our own plans out of God's will, we always look for the things we want and consider it God's blessings even if it is not. we don't know that we are out of control and too far from God's blue print and when we came to a point that God intervenes and realized we are out of God's path, it will be hard for us to decide and surrender everything we had out of our own efforts to follow God's way. In Genesis 19 God warned Lot and his family to leave s***m to save them from destruction. They were commanded not to look back for they will become pillar of salt. Lot's wife fell inlove with the place and the wealth they have and can't resist to look back with lament then became pillar of salt. When we take our own journey away from God, it is not hard to fell inlove with it that when time comes that God will remind us to take the best way for us it will be hard to forget everything we had.
God is always telling us to entrust our lives to Him because He knows what is best for us. Our knowledge is limited but God knows everything so trust Him and live in His Perfect Will.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
