one year ago we set up in the mangroves with no real blueprint — just a feeling that Davao deserved something built around its people, its community, and its sunsets.
we almost stopped more than once. the communication broke down, the mistakes piled up, and there were nights we genuinely didn’t know if anyone would show up.
but you did. every single time.
a seaside flea market, a greek fiesta, an enchanted night, a return to the fire, and a pickleball court with a sunset we didn’t plan but somehow always had.
to every merchant who packed up their craft and trusted a space still figuring itself out — you were half of everything.
to every ka-tropa who went, brought a friend, stayed until the last song, and raised a Tropa Shot to the fading sky — you are the reason we didn’t stop.
we don’t know what’s next. but whatever comes or doesn’t — you’ll always be our ka-tropa. and that part doesn’t end. 🌅
