Last night, we launched the “50 Years of Independence and the Future” Regional Discussions with the Southern Region! 🎉

The evening was rich with reflection and vision, guided by our moderator Mr. Benaiah Nari, and made powerful by the wisdom of our distinguished speakers:

IT’S OFFICIAL - THE JOURNEY HAS BEGUN! 🇵🇬✨

The UPNG SRC Golden Jubilee Celebrations kicked off in historic style with the Constitution Exhibition, proudly facilitated by the School of Law Administration on Friday, 15th August 2025. This was the first official program of the Golden Jubilee Independence Committee, and it set the perfect tone for what’s ahead! 🎉📖

We were truly honored to welcome;

• Hon. James Marape, Prime Minister of Papua New Guinea
• His Honour Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika
• Hon. Davis Steven, MP
• Mr. Leslie Mamu, Public Solicitor of PNG
• Dr. Eric Kwa, Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the Constitutional and Law Reform Commission of Papua New Guinea
• Ms. Helen Roalakona, the first female Public Prosecutor of PNG

🏆 Congratulations to Jack Markus from the UPNG School of Medicine and Health Sciences, whose brilliant design captures 50 years of unity, independence, and student pride. 🎨💡

Special appreciation to the Law Students and the Administration for facilitating the launch, and to our distinguished guest the Pro Chancellor of UPNG, Goiye Gileng, for officially unveiling the logo in style. 💯🙌

This logo is a proud symbol of our unity and culture as we look forward to celebrating PNG’s 50th Independence in grand style. 🖤💛❤️🇵🇬

⚖️ CELEBRATING OUR CONSTITUTION – 50 YEARS FREE! 🇵🇬

This Friday, August 15th, the SRC Independence Committee, in collaboration with the Law Students’ Society (LSS), invites YOU to join us at the School of Law for a day of reflection, pride, and celebration as we mark our nation’s 50th Independence and celebrate the 50th anniversary of our Constitution.

✨ On the Program:
✅ Launch of the SRC Independence Logo - unveiling of our golden emblem for this historic year.
✅ Seminar with inspiring guest speakers from all three arms of Government.
✅ Constitution Exhibition - a journey through the document that shaped our nation.

For 50 years, our Constitution has been the guiding light for our democracy, justice, and unity. This is our moment to honor it, learn from it, and look forward to the next 50 years together.🇵🇬

What a weekend to remember! Culture, colour, rhythm, and unity overflowed as the Highlands Region lit up the streets and stadium with pure PNG pride! ⛰️🎶💥

From thunderous war cries to vibrant bilas and energetic performances, the Highlands spirit was ALIVE in every step and every beat. The crowd felt it. The city felt it. The nation felt it. 🙌🏾🔥
