HISTORIC PEACE AGREEMENT SIGNED IN KAGUA-ERAVE DISTRICT, SHP.
The Southern Highlands Provincial Government, under the strong and committed leadership of William Powi, continues to demonstrate its unwavering support for peace and unity across the province. Through ongoing efforts to promote reconciliation and stability, the government remains focused on restoring harmony among communities affected by long-standing conflicts.
Today marks a significant and historic milestone as Governor Powi, together with Pila Ninigi, Provincial Administrator David Kelma, MRDC Managing Director Augustine Mano, and National Monitoring and Coordination Authority CEO David Wereh, gathered at Walum in Imbongu District for the peace agreement signing. They were joined by police personnel, public servants, peace mediators, and the people of Southern Highlands Province to witness the long-awaited peace agreement signing between the Mirupa and Wambea tribes.
