Last summer these Perennial beauties absolutely earned their place in my garden… so this year they’re getting more friends.
There are always plants that surprise you, and then there are the ones that quietly prove themselves season after season. These were my standout performers:
🤍Boltonia asteroides – whimsical masses of daisy-like flowers that just kept going.
💛 Achillea ‘Cloth of Gold’ – vibrant, long-lasting and loved by the pollinators.
☁️ Thalictrum – delicate, airy flowers that add beautiful movement through the garden and add lightness to a bunch of flowers
💗 Astilbe – lush foliage with gorgeous feathery plumes, that give so much texture to a bunch.
✨ Astrantia – such an elegant flower, with blooms that seem to last forever in both the garden and the vase.
🩷 Aquilegia – graceful, whimsical flowers that happily self-seed and fill those little gaps with surprise pops of colour.
I’ve learnt that when a perennial performs well, looks beautiful, and keeps coming back stronger each year, it’s worth investing in more of it rather than constantly chasing the next new thing.
Of course, I’m still tempted by plenty of new varieties (which I’ve already brought - keep an eye out for that post - it’s impossible not to! 😂), but these have all earned their place in my garden.
What perennial has become a must-have in your garden? The one you just keep adding more of? I’d love to hear what’s thriving for you.
