After their special day, I received this from the bride and groom:

Fi!! We wanted to drop a note to thank you again for being our celebrant and MC. Your energy was contagious from start to finish, and so many of our guests had raved about how good you were (as you may recall from the live feedback I shared with you on the day!).

Even though you might have felt like you had a smaller role as MC, what you did was exactly what we wanted – you were calm, organised support in the background that made everything flow so naturally and got our guests up and ready to celebrate when needed.

Looking at the photos and videos we have received so far, we have briefly spotted you a couple of times in the background, smiling, cheering us on and looking genuinely thrilled for us. I also remember catching a glimpse of this on the day itself. It honestly felt like having a very excited, very professional friend there who was 100% in our corner the whole time. Thanks for being so warm, fun, and genuinely invested in our day. 💌

Rachel and Ryon flew from USA to Wanaka to make their forever promises.. their plan for a heli elopement were interrupted with a storm, but this was news to Rachel’s ears as flying wasn’t her thing anyway! So do you want to know what we did? We picked a random lakeside spot and decided to say the precious words there. Plan B never looked so romantic as it does when you’re in Wanaka at the bottom of New Zealand - overlooking a pristine lake with the view of the storm brewing in the background. This little spot is a family favourite of ours, made all the more special from these two and what I know has happened on this stones.

These two are a prime example of taking whatever comes at you in your stride and the change of plan truly didn’t put a dampener on their day. They were just so rapt to be getting married and having one hellova holiday.

She said she knew he was the one when his dog became her soul dog, and with that, and the fact we were each other’s doppelgängers showed me everything happens for a reason!

Thank you .weddings for these exquisite photos (seriously, how do you do it?!) and for making the whole experience for our couple and me and all the other vendors so smooth and easy (because truth be told changing plans isn’t as easy as it sounds).

Around a third of the couples I marry are from Australia. Which makes my NewZillund accent sound reeeeeal thick. The question is, should I try to soften it during the ceremony or just accept the guests will think I’ve mixed up my vowel sounds? Vote below, I’m genuinely curious 👀
