This week I had the honour of officiating the wedding of Acacia and Sam. Two incredibly beautiful people who have shown what it means to love deeply and show up for one another through everything life can throw at you. What an incredible privilege it was to be in that sacred space of sharing words about their union in the presence of both their parents and sisters.

They chose Queenstown Wedding & Elopement Photographer to plan and capture their wedding… I just got to come along and say the special words to cross them into matrimony. Lucky me. Lucky us. Lucky lucky lucky. Love my job. No Sunday scaries here when this is the sort of email I open on a Sunday morning. X

This week I had the honour of officiating the wedding of Acacia and Sam. Two incredibly beautiful people who have shown what it means to love deeply and show up for one another through everything life can throw at you. How can I possibly put into words the privilege of being the celebrant in an elopement?

To be the person two people trust to marry them, when they’ve chosen to keep this special day just for themselves.

It’s an honour in the truest sense of the word.

I will never take for granted the privilege of standing beside them as they say the sacred words that take them into matrimony.

I feel so lucky to do this, and so stoked to be the one they chose to marry them 🥹🙏🏽 thank you 🫶

What’s the point of a wedding rehearsal? We’ll go through the choreography, the transitions, answer nightly questions like what side your guests will sit, where your bouquet will go, who will fluff your dress and where will the speaker stand. Also, little gems of advice like this. Thanks to my husband for being a good sport with this post 🫣🤣😘

I’m Fi, a marriage celebrant, MC and on-the-day coordinator based in Wānaka, available New Zealand wide.

My style is warm, relaxed, organised - and a little bit ‘we’re gonna roll with it’.

I’m not there to take over your wedding, I’m there to make it feel easy. To give you peace of mind.

To keep the day moving to your plan without making it feel rushed.

To make sure your guests know what’s happening without turning your reception into a corporate conference.

To set you up as the main event, not be centre stage.

And to give you that really lovely feeling of “Fi has my back.”

Because after months of planning your wedding, when the day finally arrives, you should be able to put the phone away, forget about the run sheet and enjoy every bloody minute of it.
