🌹 PSA Beautifully understated, the striking Sunset of Safari bloom box is inspired by a vivid sunset over the Savanna, it is a celebration of wild blooms, vivid colours, and eye-catching foliage.

The Prestige Rose brings a beautiful focal point to the display. The deep red Leucadendron Safari Sunsets, sun-kissed Chrysanthemums and Asiatic Lily bring elegance, height, and texture.

The locally grown Agonis picked fresh with the Proteas are from our friends at Peninsula Flowers and bring great visual interest.

We found popping in the eucalyptus gum from last week’s ‘Nautical by Nature’ arrangement brought extra height and beautiful contrast.

We know you will have fun with this mix of different colours, heights, flower shapes, focals, fillers, foliage and texture- you’ve

Brighten up your day and those around you on Thursday 31 March, 2022 by wearing colour and supporting a great cause E Tū Tāngata.

In New Zealand we have a culture of criticism (Tall Poppy Syndrome). E Tū Tāngata is an initiative aimed at turning that around. Empowering people to build a culture where every person is valued.

The idea of Colour Your Day is to wear bright colours (or in our case fill our home with colourful flowers) because you have value and everybody deserves to stand-out without facing criticism from others.

On the day, you’ll see those around you also dressed in bright colours which is a powerful representation that we’re in this together.

New Zealand Protea season is here 🙌🏼!

We can’t get enough of them at BBY so you expect to see these beauties in your box of blooms over the coming months.

Some FUN FACTS for your Wednesday🌟

1. We source our proteas from Peninsula Flowers, a local protea grower, based in Barry’s Bay, Banks Peninsula, Christchurch. They have been growing on their farm since the 1980s- so they certainly know a thing or two.

2. The protea means diversity, daring, courage and transformation and is named after Proteus, the Greek God, Poseidon’s son.

3. Proteas can be dried by hanging them upside down in a dark and dry location for 2-3 weeks.
