Good morning Quotation food cart followers and supporters,

It's been four long months since I've made a page post, I know it's not ideal but most of the time I'm to exhausted to post and it's not my immediate priority.

I've been putting in some long days and nights right through this four month period and the days I do get off work I like to do my own thing, watch some sport, go for a drive, visit family and friends or spend time in my garden.

Quotation has had lots of variety of events catering and offering a takeaway service since I last posted, it's been a busy time but I've loved every minute of it and the challenges of maintaining a successful business, here's some of the jobs and events I've worked at.

Horowhenua Kennel/Kapi-Mana Kennel Clubs Association (3 days), Bikes and Burgers (6) gatherings including Paloma Gardens (Fordell) I love❤️ that place, Massey Universities Oasis gatherings at Wharerata, sports days at Massey Rec Centre, Catering a get together at Massey Universities Hort research center Seminar, welcome orientation day for first year students at Massey residency accommodation, JTL Work Christmas Party in Marton for 60 guests, Redline Kustomz show at Wilson Park Marton (HUGE DAY), Manawatu Junior Rugby League at Coronation Park, 2 X Feilding Dog Training Clubs Obedience and Agility Shows, a lovely wedding at Newbury Hall for a beautiful bride and groom, the iconic Hiwinui Country Estates Sunflower Field display, my regular Friday nights at the Ashhurst RSA, Horowhenua Pony Club 2 day show at Foxton Racecourse, Catering the Rangitane Settlement Trusts AGM, NZ Junior touch tournament at Coronation Park, the Terre Bissell Foundation Whanau touch tournament and my lease spot on the Square.

My regular spot in the Square hasn't been that regular after the Christmas New Year period, I hope to resume a more settled schedule there in the next few weeks.

I have some big events coming up over the next few months, a 60th birthday celebration, two national hockey tournaments at the Fitzherbert twin turfs, more Dog Agility and Obedience shows and bookings as far out as November 2026.

I'm also proud to say I've managed to maintain the same prices on 90% of my regular menu offerings since my opening day in July 2023.

This is achieved by sourcing supplies at better prices, buying bulk goods and having a slimmed down business model where I take full responsibility for all food that is produced and served.

This allows me to pass those savings onto my customers and I can still make a profit, pay my accounts and maintain a viable hospitality business.

I like to support my community sponsoring the Takaro Sports Clubs Pool Section, two Manawatu youth dart players (both in NZ Junior age group Rep teams), a Manawatu Hockey player and Quotation is a regular sponsor of the Ashhurst RSA events calendar.

Good evening Quotation food cart followers 🙂

How are you all?

The summer weather temperatures are upon us with tremendous grass growth for our farmers who are busy cutting grass for supplement feed for later in the season.

There's been alot of events in the Manawatu region recently with Quotation busy with private catering jobs, workplace parties, up at Massey University, Ashhurst RSA, Levin Show Grounds, the Engineers Regiment celebration from Linton Army Camp, Sports events, Bikes and Burgers and my regular trading in the Square.

It's been a busy time recently with appreciative clients and some wonderfully generous customers.

This Thursday evening Quotation will be open at Massey Universities Wharerata function centre for the popular Oasis gathering along with live music and liquid refreshments supplied by Brew Union.

Leading up to Christmas Quotation has a two day horse show in Foxton, a two day Obedience Dog Show in Feilding, two workplace functions as well as my regular Ashhurst and Square quadrant locations.

Into the early new year my schedule is already taking bookings with one special day in particular I'm looking forward to in early February as well as a car show in Marton.

There have been quite a few enquiries regarding my availability for takeaway services in the Manawatu, unfortunately I can't fill all requests due to already being booked or some events with large numbers and compressed service times just making a commitment impossible to fulfill.

In these cases I have a few foodcart operators who I can call on to take these jobs, thanks for helping me, appreciate it.

Recently Quotation was the preferred catering option at a three day Dog Show with judges and Stewards from Finland, Sweden, The UK and Australia, it's always a pleasure to showcase fresh local produce.

Good morning Quotation food cart followers,

How are you all?

I hope with Spring close at hand alongside daylight saving we all can expect better weather as we head into summer.

I know my posts have been few and far between and some of you will have noticed I haven't been in some of my more regular locations or opening hours.

I've had a mountain of external catering and takeaway events since I've returned from my overseas vacation which has allowed me to think about my business model where it is at the moment and going forward into the next wee while.

Having a lease spot in The Square is a intricate part of my business operation which as the weather improves Quotation will be more visible starting this week from Tuesday the 30th of September.

You'll appreciate that being a mobile foodtrailer I need reasonably good weather to open.

I've been a regular at the Bunnythorpe Garage forecourt on Tuesdays for over two years and I've virtually been there nearly every week bar a few weeks for Christmas and my recent vacation.

I have some wonderfully generous customers there who have supported me right from the very start who I'm extremely greatful, I'll will resume there sometime soon once I sort out the best option that fits in with my current operating hours and schedule.

In regards to regular updates and posts, my busy schedule doesn't always allow me to post especially after a long day or a decent stretch of consecutive days opening at events or private catering jobs, I'm basically to tired 😁

I know it's not ideal for my followers not knowing where I am or what I'm up to but be assured I'm always thinking of you, I never take you for granted and I love seeing you all.

I'm also proud of the fact my menu pricing has stayed basically the same for the entire time I've been in business with minor increases for mostly beef associated dishes and the increases associated with the meat sector.

My sweet selection has not had an increase, my burger meals, steak meals, Fish "N" Chips are still the same as are drinks, this is achieved by sourcing supplies in bulk or at better prices which I pass onto my customers without any price increases.

In combination with a stripped down labour input and a low cost effective business model my customers benefit with freshly made good quality food at a reasonable price.

I've had a busy catering and takeaway service schedule these last few months, two event shows during August at Manfeild Park (consecutive Sat/Sun), two Massey University Campus Oasis gatherings at iconic Wharerata, the Manawatu senior Hockey Championships, consecutive days (Sat/Sun) at Manawatu Junior Waterpolo tournament (huge), two massive days for Manawatu Junior Rugby League at Coronation Park, Bikes and Burgers and every Friday at Ashhurst RSA.

Over the next two months Quotation has a German themed day at Ashhurst RSA, a workplace birthday shout for 25 guests, a craft market day at Peppertree, Square market day, a two day (28/29th Oct) sporting event at Massey Universities community track, a three day catering and takeaway service at a 90th birthday celebration for the HVKC and KMKS All Breeds Dog Clubs at the Levin Show Grounds, Defense Force gathering at Takaro Sports Club and Bikes and Burgers.

Good evening Quotation followers,

How are you all?

I've only recently arrived back in New Zealand after a vacation overseas, visited some fascinating countries with wonderful scenery and delicious food.

Also interesting how different cultures have enhanced and complimented each other to achieve a hugely significant impact on food and the general ambiance of cities and villages.

I'll post some pics of my travels with this thread.

I really appreciated and needed my time away as the last two years in business (July 2023) although very rewarding it's also been all consuming, although I wouldn't change a thing after meeting and serving all my generous customers.

I've also created a large client base where I'm getting repeat work and referral work, I appreciate you all.

Arriving back in New Zealand on the 22nd of July I had a few days to organize myself for a two day Dog Obedience Show at Manfeild Trust Park and a 40 person catering job for a long time established farming family in Ashhurst.

Both events were very successful and a great fill up to get back into catering and serving appreciative customers.

Manfeild Park Trust has become a huge part of Quotations business schedule where I've had eight food service related events in nine months, I have another two events penciled in through August.

Last week I resumed my Friday nights at Ashhurst RSA, on Saturday Quotation was open at Queen Elizabeth College for a sporting event.

On Thursday the 7th of August I'll be up at Massey Universities Wharerata function centre for August's Oasis gathering along side my friends at Willsum Authentic Korean Food Cart, Brew Union Brewing Company and live music entertainment from Graham Johnston & EK.

I appreciate all the work Victoria and her team at Wharerata afford me.

Over the next three months Quotation has a two day All Breeds Dog Show to cater at Manfeild Trust Park, a Darts tournament, a Birthday Celebration, a Military gathering with up to 100 personal at Takaro Sports Club, a three day All Breeds Dog Show at Levin Show Grounds, Bikes & Burgers and a two day Canoe Waterpolo tournament at Freyberg Pool along with my normal Palmy Square, Bunnythorpe Garage and Ashhurst RSA hours.

Bikes and Burgers has been a huge success for my business, an idea two customers of mine had to explore their passion for motorcycling along with giving Quotation a massive opportunity to provide a service to motorcycle enthusiasts from all over our region and beyond.

We also held two motorcycle shows at Moto 71 within Paloma Gardens near Fordell, thanks to Clive and Nikki for hosting us, I appreciate everything Gavin and Shaun done organizing the Bikes and Burgers initiative❤️.

I pride myself on having reasonable prices, this is achieved by sourcing supplies at better prices, buying bulk goods, building good relationships with suppliers and having a slimmed down business model where I take responsibility for everything.

I don't engage in free give aways, Uber deliveries, pay later schemes or discounting, what I can offer is freshly made favourites, quality NZ produce, affordable pricing, great service, excellent conversation and honesty.

Hey Quotation food cart followers,

It's been sometime since I've posted on my page.

I've been exceptionally busy with a wide range of events, catering and my normal weekly trading.

As a Foodtrailer business I rely entirely on good weather to open unless I'm at a specific catering job or I'm required to fulfill a long standing commitment to attend at certain locations.

I'm also mindful that I'm a business that needs to keep ahead of my competitors with innovation, new ideas and to protect the relationships I've worked hard at to build trust and a professional relationship aligned with my clients best interests.

I never go looking for work, I never impose myself at events without an invitation and I never beg for jobs, whatever I have and do is through sheer determination and a solid work ethic with integrity and a respect for others.

The hospitality industry is tough at the moment and the downturn in our economy and the continued rising costs of related supplies means being both prudent and cost effective for all my customers.

I've managed to hold 90% of my menu without any price rises in the two years I've been in business, this has been achieved by sourcing supplies at better prices buying bulk, building solid relationships with accredited suppliers and shopping for goods on special which benefits my customers.

I also run a slimmed down business model where I take full responsibility for all food that is produced which maximizes the efficiency of my Foodtrailer and I'm able to maintain food prices at a sustainable level without compromising quality.

Over the last 3 months I've had a large variety of events, Relay for Life, Manawatu Secondary schools Sports at the Community Athletics Track Massey, Manawatu Saturday Morning Secondary Schools Rugby, Manawatu Junior Rugby League, Manawatu Striders Marathons/Walks at Masseys fitness center, Regional Emergency Services at Bunnythorpe Domain, Paloma Gardens and a variety of private catering jobs across the region.

Victoria and her team at Wharerata function center at Massey University have offered Quotation tremendous support with a special mention to Aleyza, Fran at the Recreation Center, the function center staff at Wharerata, thank you for supporting my business, I appreciate you 🙂❤️

Bikes and Burgers had a huge season culminating with a motorcycle show and shine day at Paloma Gardens in Fordell just south of Whanganui.

The Bikes and Burgers events have gotten so big through the sheer hard work of Shaun and Gavin, in the new summer season there may be some changes with compliance, regulations and costs affecting our ability to run these motorcycle gatherings, we will keep all our supporters abreast of the new format should it be necessary.

The Ashhurst RSA has also been an outstanding success, the locals are extremely generous and friendly, I appreciate everyone of you❤️

My business schedule has catering jobs over the next couple of weekends, July has a catering job signed and I'm working on a 25th Birthday Celebration for a local sports club early in August.

Catering jobs allow me to support other local food producers to showcase their skills with Quotation outsourcing food from these businesses for a good portion of catering.

Good evening Quotation Food Cart followers,

Quotation has had a busy month catering, attending small events and opening at Bunnythorpe Garage forecourt and intermittently at Ashhurst RSA.

I had a large catering job for the Horowhenua Kennel Association Dog Show at the Levin Show Grounds, where I served six overseas judges, local stewards and committee members.

The overseas judges were most impressed with the quality & freshness of our produce and tasty NZ meats, with one judge taking photos back to her club on how catering with freshness should be done.

I was also open for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the public and competitors with my menus well received.

Quotation had a three day Camping Association of NZ event, this was also a solid few days of trading with some wonderfully generous customers and great fellow business colleagues to work alongside with a coffee van, ice cream van and Julia & Owen at Shorties Foodcart.

The highly successful Hiwinui Country Estates Sunflower Field display, where the weather was sensational, my hosts the Stewart family who were so welcoming with a stunning visual display of Sunflowers and real passionate locals.

In the interim there was the "Have a go Sports Day" at Manfeild Trust Park, Bikes and Burgers at City Honda, my regular spot in the Square quadrant across from the Old Post Office building and next to the i-site centre.

Quotation Food cart will be out at Massey Universities concourse on Thursday the 6th of March for the first Oasis Celebration Event held this year.

It's a real busy time at Massey with students returning, there is a real hive of activity around the pristine grounds with a sense of excitement in the air.

Quotation will be at Ashhurst RSA on Friday where I'm always welcomed by the friendly locals, Saturday and Sunday I'll be at my regular spot in the Square quadrant across from the Old Post Office building and next to the i-site centre office.

The popular Bikes and Burgers meet is next Thursday the 13th of March in the Square where we are regularly getting 150 to 200 motorcycles turning up with $850 worth of free sponsors products given away to the enthusiastic motorcycle community.

My small catering business has alot of booking in the next few months, with a 65th Birthday Party in April with 70 guests at Foxton Beach being the highlight.

The month of May has seen clients booking in advance with a large Manfeild Park event already set.

Good morning Quotation Foodtrailer followers,

Hope you all have had a fabulous Waitangi Day or extended long weekend.

Quotation will be open today at Hiwinui Country Estates Sunflower 🌻 Field display on the Bunnythorpe/Ashhurst Road from 10am until 5pm.

Quotation had the pleasure to be open on Waitangi Day where hundreds of visitors enjoyed stunning weather in a magnificent rural setting under the iconic Ruahine Ranges with rolling farmland views down to Feilding and across to Palmerton North.

There are many activities to enjoy, a interactive children's play area, games and activities for families, secret walkways, a pick your own Sunflower memento lane, straw bales to relax on, shaded trees lines, picnic areas, a giant swing and vintage tractor.

The Estate has it's very own cute Ice cream trailer towed by a John Deere tractor 🚜, the lovely Nicole has her Expresso drinks cart on-site and Quotation Foodtrailer has it's delicious menu available.

There is a large parking area and toilet facilities on site.

If you want to end this extended long weekend with a relaxing stroll amongst full bloom Sunflowers 🌻 or just laze away a Sunday in the shade with a picnic, Hiwinui Country Estate welcomes you.

Quotation was back in The Square yesterday (Tuesday) resuming my normal trading hours and catering the very successful Bikes and Burgers evening.

Bikes and Burgers has been a tremendous lift in profile for my business and I can't thank Shaun and Gavin enough for what they've been able to achieve along with all our generous sponsors and all the hundreds of motorcycle enthusiasts who have supported our events, more than 150 were at yesterday's gathering.

It's been so successfully rewarding motorcycle enthusiasts want to organize events for Hastings, Wellington and Feilding.

Quotation Foodtrailer will be open at Hiwinui Country Estates Sunflower Field display on Waitangi Day on the Bunnythorpe/Ashhurst Road off the Tremaine exit intersection.

There are 180,000 sunflower heads in full bloom, flower picking trails, hidden secret areas amongst the flower display, interactive children's area, straw bale resting area, picnic sights, swing set, safe parking, tree shelters, drinks cart and toilets.

If you want a peaceful tranquil Waitangi Day in a rural setting with views of the Ruahine Ranges over stunning Sunflower blooms, Hiwinui Country Estate welcomes you to enjoy their hospitality.
