https://www.lifecoachnelson.co.nz If you dislike most networking groups, feel uneasy being around people you aren't aligned with and have business cards thrust in your sweaty palm. T R I B E means - belonging to a collection of people all working together for the benefit of each other, rather than being in competition with each other. Tribe is a community of women who support and inspire each other to become strong, impactful, and successful in business and life. When kind motivated women join together amazing things happen. You will be connected to a wealth of industry experts to pull from, make new friends, learn how to grow, and sustain your business, and health and be around other women who, like you know that together we achieve. Your Tribe is for all women, not just women in business, it's for you. Join our Tribe. www.yourtribe.co.nz

Have you ever been in a room where someone goes at you, speaks to you unfairly, or challenges your point of view?

And everyone else stays silent.

Nobody says, "Hang on a minute" or "That's enough."

And you're left wondering... did nobody else see that?

Sometimes it's not even what was said that hurts the most. It's the silence of the people around you.

But here's a thought.

Having someone's back doesn't mean taking sides, agreeing with everything they say or getting into a fight.

Sometimes it's simply having the courage to say, "Can we not speak to each other like that?"

A little courage can make a big difference to someone feeling very alone in that moment.

Have you ever been in that room? Or perhaps you've been the one who stayed silent?

I've shared a little video about this over on YouTube. I'd love you to watch it and share your thoughts.

What if imposter syndrome isn't a sign you're not good enough, but a sign you're growing into something new?

We say we want to grow, be more confident, do new things, take opportunities. Then we feel uncomfortable and start questioning ourselves. Who do I think I am? But what if that feeling isn't a red flag but a sign you're growing?

Stop trying to get rid of imposter syndrome. Get good at it. Not because it's pleasant, but because doing something new will feel unfamiliar. It will prob feel uncomfortable.

So, here's a question I'd love you to sit with.

What would you be doing right now if you stopped believing you were an imposter?

When I moved to New Zealand, I loved my new home.

But I was lonely too.

I missed home. I missed my people A LOT. I missed feeling like I fitted somewhere.

I missed having people around me I could just be my daft self with.

Familiar faces. Walking into a room and feeling welcome. That lovely feeling of being at home with people.

I’ve always loved that feeling captured in the theme tune from Cheers — being somewhere people know you and are genuinely pleased you came.

And, in some small way, that was part of why HERA began.

I wanted to create a place where women could walk through the door not knowing anyone and, over time, become a familiar face.

Where a coffee becomes a conversation.
A conversation becomes a connection.
And sometimes a connection becomes a friendship, or becomes a business relationship.

Because if you’ve moved to Nelson, there’s one thing you can’t unpack from a box.

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♀️ Your people.

Sometimes you just need somewhere to begin.

So whether you’re new to Nelson, or you’ve been here for years and you’re still finding your people, come and find us.

There’s a seat for you here.

COULD YOUR STORY BE NEXT?

Every woman has a story.
Some are loud.

Some have been carried quietly for years.
Some changed everything.
And some only make sense when we finally tell them.

HERstory will proudly return in 2027, and I’m beginning the search for the women who will take to the stage next.

You don’t need to be a polished speaker. You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need a real story that feels important to tell.

HERstory grew from HERA Women’s Collective, and all HERstory speakers are part of our HERA community. It’s where we get to know each other before we begin the journey to the stage together.

If something in you is already whispering, maybe this is my year…
I’d love to hear from you.

Real women. Real stories. Told out loud.

Friday night we gathered for one of our HERA Pow Wows.

And the question around the tables was a simple one:

What was your first ever job?

The laughter and chatter around the room was gorgeous.

And in half an hour, I learnt things I never knew about women I thought I
knew pretty well.

It reminded me that connection doesn't always have to be deep and
meaningful.

Sometimes we just need to ask a different question.

So here's one for you this week...

What was YOUR first ever job?

Tell us in the comments. We'd love to hear it.

And with October almost here, there are plenty more opportunities to get
together with HERA.

Have a peek at what's coming up and book yourself into something that takes
your fancy.

Life is lovelier when you don't do it alone. xx

Joining is so easy and affordable.

What if you had a room full of women who wanted to see you thrive?

That’s the kind of space we’re creating at HERA.

A place to be encouraged, to grow in confidence, make genuine connections and have a voice.

Connection over competition.

No awkward sales pitches. Instead, we get to know the woman behind the business. What she does. What she cares about. How she can help.

So when someone says, “Do you know a great woman who can help me with this?” you do.

We recommend each other. Champion each other’s work. Celebrate the wins. Share what we know. And help women in business become more visible.

But you absolutely don’t need to own a business to belong here.

Come because you want to meet new people. Find new friends. Have more interesting conversations. Get invited to gatherings and events. Enjoy member offers. Try speaking in front of a supportive room. Or simply have somewhere you feel you belong.

HERA is led by Caron Proctor, Life Coach and founder of HERstory, with a simple intention: to encourage more women to use their voice, cheer other women on and be part of something that makes a difference here in Nelson.

And that’s where HERstory comes in.

HERA is the home where HERstory begins.

It’s where women are encouraged to find their voice and practise using it. Where future HERstory speakers can be nurtured, supported and connected before they ever step onto the stage.

And whether you ever want to stand on that stage or not, you are part of HERstory too.

By showing up. By supporting another woman. By recommending her business. By listening to her story. By finding the courage to share a little more of your own.

Together, HERA and HERstory also help us support the Nelson Women’s Centre and create more opportunities for women right here in Nelson.

Be known. Be encouraged. Have a voice. Champion other women. Belong.

We’d love you to be part of it.

We have all heard the quotes.

Women supporting women.
Strong women lift each other up.

But do we actually live by them?
Some women do, consistently and wholeheartedly, and that deserves a shout-out. To every woman who regularly cheers herself and other women on, thank you. More of that, please.

Two weeks ago, we took to the stage for our sixth HERstory.

This was our 2026 team, and I could not be prouder of every one of them, or more grateful to everyone who came, cheered, laughed, cried and joined us.

Long live true connection in a world of filters and fakery. ⚡️

We have all heard the quotes about strong women lifting other women...
