FULL TIME: A dominant first-half performance saw The Thirsty Whale Restaurant and Bar Napier City Rovers book their place in the next round of the Chatham Cup with a commanding 7–0 victory over Waterside Karori.

Ben Stanley starred with an outstanding four-goal haul, while Liam Schofield and Luca Barclay also found the back of the net, with the seventh goal coming via an own goal.

Rovers controlled the contest from the outset, putting in a clinical display to secure progression to the next round in emphatic fashion.

Attention now turns to recovery before a huge Central League fixture next Saturday, when the boys travel to take on Western Suburbs as the league campaign resumes.

Final Score: Napier City Rovers 7–0 Waterside Karori
Goals: Ben Stanley (4), Liam Schofield, Luca Barclay, Own Goal.

FULL TIME: The Thirsty Whale Restaurant and Bar Napier City Rovers recorded a comfortable 3–0 victory over Island Bay in their Round 3 Dettol Central League catch-up fixture.

Goals from Aston Hurd, Callum Cooke, and Jacob Fenton secured all three points as Rovers completed the first half of the season in style.

With every first-round fixture now played, Napier City Rovers sit equal top of the table alongside Olympic and Miramar, setting up an exciting battle for the title in the second half of the campaign.

Attention now turns to the Chatham Cup, with the next challenge coming on Monday when Rovers take on Waterside Karori in what promises to be another important test.

This Sunday sees The Thirsty Whale Restaurant and Bar Napier City Rovers Women’s team kick off their first Fed Cup match of the year!

After narrowly missing out in last year’s final, the team will be determined to go one step further and bring the trophy home in 2026 🏆💙

Get down to Bluewater Stadium this Sunday at 1pm and get behind the girls as they take on Whanganui Athletic!

King’s Birthday Weekend – The Thirsty Whale Restaurant and Bar Napier City Rovers Double Header & Cup Action

This King’s Birthday Weekend we have a huge few days of football ahead, with a Thirsty Whale double header at Bluewater Stadium and plenty of cup action to enjoy.

On Saturday, our Thirsty Whale Men’s team takes on Island Bay in a Central League catch-up fixture at Bluewater Stadium, kick off at 2pm.

Then on Monday, we kick off our Chatham Cup campaign with a 2pm fixture against Waterside Karori.

Sandwiched between the men’s fixtures is our Women’s Federation Cup match, where Thirsty Whale Napier City Rovers Women face Whanganui Athletic, with kick-off at 1pm at Bluewater Stadium on Sunday the 31st of May.

It’s shaping up to be a fantastic weekend of football, and we’d love to see plenty of support around the grounds for all three matches.

Great result yesterday! The Napier City Rovers boys showed real character to come back from a goal down and finish with a massive 6–1 win. Brilliant response, great energy, and plenty of smiles after the final whistle 😄⚽️
