So we are throwing a party - it's not quite winter yet right? And its the perfect excuse to dance in the lane. Four DJs. One night. One unforgettable lane party.

As part of Heretaunga Music Month, The Little Lane Party is taking over Opera Lane. Step into Hastings’ hottest little dance floor for one night only — this is your invitation to dance in the lane — a pop-up open-air club night featuring an all-local DJ lineup spinning everything from house and hip hop to funk and disco.

Join us between Toi Toi and the East Block Bars for a night of dancing and good times — with drinks flowing, street vibes glowing, and the beats dropping till late.

Happy NZ Music Month 🎵

We were lucky enough to spend last weekend celebrating our incredible local artists with a series of events at Toitoi - Hawke's Bay Arts & Events Centre.

Things kicked off on Thursday with the Going Local session—where we were joined by industry representatives to mark the launch of NZ Music Month. That evening, we came together at the HB Music Hub Industry Gala to celebrate local talent and the passionate people behind the scenes.

On Friday, the Toitoi stage transformed into an intimate listening space for four stunning original acoustic sets by local artists Molly Pawson Music, Joe Cole Music, Mon Shelford Music, & Nick Herbison - Music. It's a pretty special moment when the audience is so attentive you could hear a pin drop. These moments remind us how powerful live music can be—and how important it is to nurture the talent growing right here in our own backyard. If you get the chance this May, get out there, soak it in, and support local artists. They’re so worth showing up for.

We’re teaming up with Hastings NZ to bring you even more music content throughout the month, so stay tuned for what’s coming next! 🎤🎵

The storm’s rolling in, so we’ve rolled up the curtain- find us tonight on the Opera House stage, entry via the secret backstage door on Opera lane. 6pm-8.30. Cash Bar available. The nights not over after the show – slip across the laneway for drinks at Craft & Social.

Hawke’s Bay songwriters doing what they really do best — playing their own stuff. These artists are no strangers to the local scene, but this time, it’s all originals, no covers. Just raw talent, sweet tunes, and an atmosphere that’s as easy-going as a Friday sesh.
