Kineta Booker - Christchurch + Canterbury Elopement Celebrant

Kineta Booker - Christchurch + Canterbury Elopement Celebrant Hey, lovers! Let's get you hitched! ♡

Christchurch + Canterbury Elopement and Micro Wedding Celebrant You can download it from my website or Google Play Store.

I’m a Christchurch and North Canterbury-based marriage celebrant specialising in fun, vibrant and beautifully crafted wedding ceremonies. As a full-time wedding lover, I work any day, any time - officiating traditional and micro weddings, elopements, registry office-style ceremonies and vow renewals throughout Canterbury. Other than being a marriage celebrant, I also run two wedding directories -

North Canterbury Weddings and Christchurch Celebrants, and have turned these into an app - Wedding White Pages. I’m also the editor of popular South Island wedding magazine, Canterbury Bride. Because of this, I like to keep up with bridal and wedding trends, and also work very closely (and can personally recommend!) some of the best wedding vendors Canterbury has to offer. As a validated member of Celebrants Aotearoa New Zealand, VCANZ, it means I’ve been appointed as a Registry Celebrant, now that the Christchurch Registry Office is permanently closed. I look forward to hearing from you and getting you hitched to your life's greatest love x

Marlon Williams's documentary Nga Ao E Rua, Two Worlds takes you backstage into his life as he travels the world, telling the story of how he produced his first te reo Maori album - along with the scores of people who were part of its journey.

Being at the premiere last night was so special, as so many of Marlon's childhood, music and life in general community were there, so the audience vibe was really quite electric. And, even if we don't know him personally, by the end of it we felt we did because his personality throughout the doco was so casual, fun and sincere making it feel like we were lifetime buds.

One of the many highights was when the ChCh Cathedral Choir surprised former member Marlon "a beautiful arrangement of my wiata" leaving the singer quite lost for words and his eyes a little "dusty" just before the doco opened.

Ok, this is now turning into a review, which it's not 🙈🤦🏼‍♀️

Soooo, this is a pic of me and my mate going to a gig which is also a doco 💃🏼 (Actually, Chris did write the review, so pop yourself over to chrislynchmedia.com to have a read)

In cinemas from today! I'd go if I were you. (I'll be honest, I don't know any of Marlon's songs but you don't have to to enjoy it... Off to find him on Spotify!)

Introducing... Kineta Booker Coaching 🩷 There is not a single person who will not benefit from this. It's all about communication: how we work best in a team, relationship or partnership, how we communicate with each other - and our unique style. You all know that communication is my jam: through working with couples to create their best elopement ever (especially how they communicate their personalised vows with each other), life as a magazine editor, and also through strategising with businesses about how best to communicate key messages to their audience.

With all of that in mind, I'm pretty excited to share that I'm now a Certified Practitioner of Extended DISC which means I can help you understand your communication style through this psychometric profiling tool. This can also be done for each of your team members (or partner!) which will give you all great insight into the different behavioural styles, and how best to work, live and communicate with each other. HOW GOOD!!

When my coach Marina Shearer from Profile Coaching went through my reports with me, it was a jaw-drop moment. What the heck?! I absolutely wish I had done it sooner. It helped me realise my behaviour in certain areas, why I do the things I do, how I like people to work with me, and even ideas on how best to thrive in both work and my relationships! 🩷

Here's how it works:
- I send you a link to the assessment which you do at a time convenient to you
- we organise a Zoom, phone, or face-to-face catch-up to go over your reports (I'll also email these to you after your coaching session with me)
- you gain awesome insight into your working style, tips you can share with your manager and partner about your communication style and how you work best
- you THRIVE! 💃🏼

Introductory offer! As a brand new accredited psychometric profiler, I'm offering 50% off to the first 10 people to message me "Kineta, Coach Me!"

Again, HOW GOOD!! 🩷

For more information, pop over to my website: kinetabooker.com/coaching OR just go ahead and DM "Kineta, Coach Me!!"

Have you ever had that feeling of being so excited to share something that you delay it by weeks, trying to find the perfect moment to tell everyone?! 🩷 I've been so, SO very amped to share what I've been chipping away at in the background, adding a new skillset to my toolkit - which is literally going to benefit each and every one of you 💃🏼 but I've been so focussed on making our sunflowers package a national media hit, hitching couples during the height of wedding season, launching new elopement packages I just KNOW you'll all love (and all that stuff that goes on the background), that I still haven't shared my BIG NEWS!! And, no, I haven't become a Life Coach (perhaps to the disappointment of so many of you who have requested I become one 😅 What I've achieved is something so much more which is going to benefit every single couple I have the honour to hitch and each business I work with. Over the next week, I'll share a little more, and then I'll launch this little beauty on Friday 28 February! 🩷 Excited? I sure am!!

Rules to live by: 1️⃣ Never wear a dress at Sign of the Bellbird on a windy day (that's a story for another time...🤦🏼‍♀️) 2️⃣ Always say "Yes!" when your just-eloped couple invites you to have a shot of drambuie with them 3️⃣ Never try your first-ever sip of said shot when there's a photographer there to document each burning microsecond 🤦🏼‍♀️💃🏼 4️⃣ And make the most of moments like these 🩷 Looking back at this early December elopement makes me smile. None of us wanted to leave there happily chatting away on that brick wall, but S + K had guests to celebrate with. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness on your new overseas adventure. K🩷

Awww! 🐾 One thing I'm known for is being an animal adorer 😻 So, if you turn up to your elopement with your little furry pal, just know I have my ink pad, ready to take their signature 🩷💃🏼 What better way to remember your day!!

(I've even had kitty cats 'paw the doc' !! Would be interested to hear from elopees who have other animals that might like to agree that their parents get married! 😅😂🤣🐎🐏🐢

From wedding singer to celebrant

Have you ever seen the movie The Wedding Singer? That used to be me. The singing bit, rather than the ‘meeting waitresses at weddings’ or having an awesome mullet part of the movie. I digress...

So, once I’d sung most of my friends up the aisle (there are still a few who still need me...), and performed one of their favourite songs during the signing-of-the-register, it was time to hang up the microphone – which was actually about the time I started working and travelling as a journalist. A couple of years later, in 2009, I was living and working as a journo in London, and my sister excitedly called to tell me she was getting married, and wanted me to be their celebrant!

Their celebrant?! I honestly thought I’d be her bridesmaid, like I was at her first wedding! (as well as the wedding singer, of course ;) But apparently it’s bad luck to have the same bridesmaid in their second wedding. I still need to google that... Off topic again...

Anyway, I half-heartedly looked into it, because I knew she wanted to get married at the ChristChurch Cathedral in the Square, and I certainly wasn’t an Anglican minister, and only the ordained can surely officiate in such a sacred space. All I could offer the church was my special gift of being a former wedding singer!
