And just like that, another wedding season comes to a close here at The River House 🤍

Every year somehow gets better than the last. The Hawke’s Bay weather delivered once again and even on the one occasion where rain looked certain, the blue sky seemed to arrive right when it mattered most!

To all of the wonderful couples who chose to get married here this season, thank you. Thank you for trusting us to be the backdrop to such an important day in your lives. We feel very lucky to play a small part in that. 💓

We also have to thank the incredible group of vendors we work alongside each season. So much of what makes weddings at The River House feel so special comes down to the people behind the scenes. We are very selective about who works here because we care deeply about the experience and standard of every wedding held on the property. Year after year, everyone continues to raise the bar. 🙌

We always say a wedding planner isn’t something you have to have but the right one can completely change the experience of planning and the day itself.

Pippa from Society & Co Events has worked on several weddings here at The River House and really understands how to make the most of the venue and how a day flows best across the different spaces. 🙌

In the lead up to E & H’s wedding this season, heavy rain meant a full wet weather plan needed to quickly come together. With marquees, suppliers, layouts, and timelines all needing to shift, having someone experienced managing the moving parts behind the scenes made the process far smoother and far less stressful for the couple.

As it turned out, they ended up with a glorious blue sky day but they went into it feeling prepared for whatever the weather decided to do. ☀️

Remember it’s your special day. As much as we love our friends and family it’s important to savour it as a couple too.
