Buongiorno, from Florence, Italy 🇮🇹

I’m Lisa, the owner of The Event Boutique — what you may not know about me is I’m a big believer in following your heart, forging your own unique path, and creating a life that feels meaningful and beautifully yours.

For me — Italy stole my heart years ago — the stone buildings, tumbling wild greenery, ancient history, the Italian way of savouring life. I always dreamed of spending the New Zealand winter soaking up the warmth, colour and creativity of Italy.

Working in the events industry, my busiest season is spring and summer — so with our winter aligning perfectly with Italy’s warmest months, I decided to take action. In 2020, I booked an apartment in Florence for a month, with the hope of staying for the full NZ winter. Of course, we all know the big C paused that plan, until I could find a way!

When I finally went in 2022, I posted in a local Facebook group — and an American couple offered me the chance to house and pet sit while they returned to the US. And just like that, a door opened.

And now this is my fourth year, back in Florence. Meandering laneways, finding beauty in flower-laden balconies, exploring the countryside. Letting inspiration find me in unexpected corners. This city, with all its art, chaos and elegance, has become my second home — and a reminder of what’s possible when you follow what lights you up.

This is just one of many occasions in my life that proves dreams can unfold — even when you don’t know how. All it takes is the belief it’s possible, and the courage to take action. 💫

So if there’s something you hold in your heart — a dream, a desire, a whisper — I’m here to remind you, that it is possible. And if there's one more thing I know to be true...it's that life is short, so we need to take the chances, take the risks...and go after our dreams... ✨
