What started as an exhilarating idea has grown into something I’m incredibly proud of. Over the past 9 years, I’ve had the privilege of working with amazing couples and clients, creating weddings and events filled with love, excitement, and joy.

Some highlights along the way include:

• Themed celebrations

As well as large-scale events including:

I love doing cool things with cool people and being at the launch of The Big Sheep Trail is one of these things!

Launching in Christchurch in January 2027 there will be a "flock of Shaun the Sheep sculptures popping up across the city in a free, family friendly art trail full of creativity, connection and fun".

The trail will be raising funds and awareness for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Christchurch - helping to grow mentoring for tamariki and rangatahi across the Canterbury region- an amazing event to get behind.

On Sunday I ran the Christchurch Half Marathon

And it got me thinking (after all I had some time….) of all the ways that doing a half marathon is similar to running a business

• It sounds like a good idea at the time and you get very excited
• You buy all the gear and map out a plan of how you think it will go
• You fall a few times but if you're lucky nothing will be broken or sprained and you can carry on
• Doubt creeps in and you question what you’re doing and why you had this crazy idea in the first place
• But you keep going believing it will all work out in the end. Trust the process.
• And you are making progress, even if it’s slower than you’d like. Each step adds up.
• And in the end, you achieve your goal and feel proud, even if it looks NOTHING like you planned
• On lookers see the achievement but not the work that went into it. You’ve made it look easy and possibly even inspired others to give it a go

The main difference I can see is that at the end of the run you are given a medal to acknowledge your achievement and remind you of what is possible!
