Me and my wee boy just had a lovely morning tea catching up with our best friends (aka family that’s not family) My favourite part of the Christmas period is making time to spend time with people who make my world special just by being in it 💚

Today’s treasure.

I discovered a new op shop this week. And what a little treasure trove it was. I picked up this beautiful silver spoon and intricate fish knife for a song.
(Yes the handle on the fish knife is cracked, and I am okay with that, I find beauty in imperfection)

I’m slowly but surely getting things organised for my Christmas Day dinner table. My family is from the UK so we do the full traditional roast. Are you a turkey, glazed ham or barbie on the beach kind of Christmas?

Today’s treasure 👌🏼

Some things are just too sweet to resist. And this little (10 cent piece there for size reference) die cast singer sewing machine was one such thing. I mean, really..? Who actually NEEDS a miniature singer...... (other than The Borrowers of course 😝)

I’m actually procrastinating here anyway. I’m meant to be getting organised for tomorrow’s shoot not playing with treasures! What’s your favourite way to avoid grown upping?

A gorgeous friend of mine has started up a pottery business, selling the most beautiful handmade vases, dishes, jugs and pots.

Simplistic in style and each one unique, they are perfect gifts for the upcoming festive season 👌🏼

One of my other “hats” is that of an Environmental Educator.

The Treadlightly Caravan (who
I work for) and Sustainable Coastlines collaborated on a beach clean up today.
We found all these beautiful pots all across the bay we were at.

Other than the fact that they were pretty, I also found them quite fascinating.
Apparently they are from Diwali celebrations and are little clay oil lamps called Diya.

I thought some of you may appreciate the prettiness ❤️

Did anyone make it to the Auckland Retro Fair on the weekend?

We missed the fair this year as we were away on our first camping trip of the summer. The weather was perfect and it felt so good to get away from the hustle of suburbia for a bit.

Disclaimer : our camping was no where near as glamorous as this!! Future campIng goals, ha ha!!

3 Markets in 1 day 😝

I couldn’t decide which market I wanted to go to the most today, so I went to them all!!

1. General Collective
I love love love these beautiful Botanical printed draw strings bags. Naturally dyed with plants, the photo really doesn’t do them justice at all.

2. Crown Lynn Collectors Market
I was in heaven here. All the pretties! Love the colour glaze. And if you ever get the chance, check out the Crown Lynn museum in New Lynn. All those memories of childhood dinner sets 😍

3. Coatesville Market
My kind of market. Open air, almost gypsy style markets with a jazz band in the sunshine!

Managed to get started on some Christmas shopping (mostly for the toddler) but it’s a start none the less!

Anyone else started yet?
